Just finished another bike, its actually a Diamant (Belgian) frame with lookalike colnago lugs, i think they made quite a few back in the eighties.

You've got so many nice bikes. -

Not a project really, but a winter hack.
Simples - the wheels are be cheapo touring black Mavic A119 with Campy front and coaster hub on the back and 28 Continental Ultra Sport tyres as I wanted something wider (they will be replaced with Panaracer Pasela TGs later on when I feel like spending more money). I've got a spare Campagnolo Chorus seat post and hopefully from this evening a different old type stem.
I was thinking of sourcing some skinny black rims for tubs, like old Ambrosio or Weinmann, but as the frame was build for the 27"s with the full mudguards, there's no point to make it prettier, because it will not happen with this geometry.
The frame isn't really worth proper restoration - the paintwork will chip very soon and the dropouts are made of butter (I actually bend them by hand to accommodate a wider axle).
ps. Excuse me that shitty photo, but it was taken with my daughter's basic Pentax. Will be posting something better, when the build is finished.

Have you moved it there already?

I've finally got bars I like, and got everything to match. Definately needs a bigger chain ring though, 40t is way too small.
Apologies for the bad photos, they were taken from my phone.

IMO level your saddle and rotate your bars back so the flats are at least horizontal else you'll have so much weight on your hands. And add some links to that chain too... don't look like alot of interface betwixt tracknut and dropout.

looks good Joe, but agree with the other 2, bars will be more comfortable if they are flatter and a half-link wont push the wheel back too much but will make it a bit safer.

I think more than 'apologies' are in call for. I feel utterly disgraced by these images - must do better
- But it is nice to see the bike pretty much finished Joe!

Oh, and he tells me that there is plenty of dropout underneath them there axlenuts and that he can wack another link in but wants slightly tighter clearance. I've also been informed that the bars were just quickly popped on for photo - I don't believe him though!

my pissing-about bike.
was originally gonna be a SS mtb, then I changed my mind and decided I wanted to build a coaster brake cruiser, then a fixed 26" bmx, then I tried to see if I could fit 700's in there
still needs some work, but almost ridable, can't wait :)

I collected my Mercier from Armourtex early this morning and I am quite happy with the result.
I couldn't resist photoshoping the brand... I hope I will receive my transfers this week, along with my bar tape so this could be fully built for the WE.Loic

'Metallic Bruise'Thanks!
Pink was Mercier's colour... not exactly that pink unfortunately, but I think I'm not too far. I am trying to recreate for myself Poulidor's bike:Loic

I saw a Shimano 600 equipped Mercier, beautiful condition, being sold for €50 at a jumble sale in France. Same colour as that, it's a really strange purpley bruised skin colour, love it!

Ace, that's gonna look great. I think the glittery lacquer alters the colour somewhat, though it does have the advantage of taking an ordinary base colour and making it a bit more interesting.
