TBH one of the main reasons I went for it was bc its fuckin impossible to find a BB to run with DA cranks (108mm ISO). The Phils have adjustable cups, which is also what bumps up the price.
How much is the standard Royce?

I don't think you should call royce standard :)
I think £130 or so. And they come with titanium axles as "standard" i think.
The hubs (which i have :) come with titanium axles.Royce can make you a bb in any size you like.

So I bought my girlfriend a Globe Roll 2 as she really wanted a bike to ride with me other than her two cargo bikes.
She doesn't like it.
Thankfully we're a fairly similar size... I'm not really sure I like it either but what to do?... I've put some proper bars on and I'm going to dig out a black saddle.
I've wanted a 'rust bucket' bike with chrome bits for a while so I might just strip it ad turn it into that. Or sell it again.
She's not getting another fucking bike instead....

sell it an get what you want.
Don't waist time on fucking up what looks like a nice bike that I'm sure someone else would love.
...in fact make her buy you a rust bucket!

Max, looking yet again at your 'dale the geometry looks awesome! I suppose it looks mad partly because the seatstays join the chainstays nearer the frame than most.

I did think about this, but I didn't realise the Phil would come in at so much in the end (cups + installation or tool).
I've always loved the idea of Royce stuff too. But sometimes you just want to go to a shop and get what you want without the arsing about.

last time i was in BLB i was after some straps, they didn't have any of the ones i wanted, so the ones i went for which were closest. they were the last pair £45. i asked him "look its the last pair, will you do them for £40?"
he laughed in my face replying "we sell 20 of these a day, they're handmade by one guy blah blah blah"
look mate i know you get them for £20 or less so don't be a massive dickhead and at least try acting like you have some customer service skills.
Ha. Jan told me about that.
I loled.
"Its the last pair, can I have it for cheap?" Id of probably laughed in your face. Thats the complete opposite of supply and demand Fred.Ask for a discount and you'll never get it. Don't ask and you'll probably get it. Thats the way I've always done it where-ever I've worked. People asking for a discount deserve nothing. I'm sorry. Its a real pet hate.
Plus you managed to pick the buisiest most understaffed, vodka fuelled day whilst I was on lunch :)
Wuv you really though.

Yeah this is true - I reckon I've halved it's value taking the white tyres off though ;)
She's been riding for years - she just doesn't like the ride at all which is fair enough (we've all been there) but I might just do that!

Plus you get to see me, which is much better than anything else in the world.
I was under the impression Royce BBs were alot more than £130 alla:
http://www.tokyofixedgear.com/productdetails.asp?productid=00541Plus I've head more stories of the tools and cups breaking on Royce than Phil. But fuck, Royce look nice. One day I'll get one. Maybe someone one will let me feel one first. Always best to feel 'em up. :)

Edit: Just read the full story. Start from £115 at TFG. Sweet. Might have to treat myself soon(ish).

Now that is just pure marketing!
As for discounts - I asked and didn't get... this time. Altho previously I've got a small discount from Jan on something. I always belive in asking for a discount.
If you don't ask you never get. But you can't complain if someone won't give you one. Esp. when you can now go to 14.

I was just guesstamating on the price, sjs do one for £130, i "felt up" the best royce bb in tokyo fixed gear last week, it has the titanium axle and a carbon shell. Fucking awesome bb, worth going into tokyo fixed just to see the royce bb. Ask at the counter downstairs and they should show it to you.

Was offered this today will replace my Claud Butler :)
As it was resprayed and badged up "no name" by Cyclone Cycles, last owner doesn't know what frame it was originally... wondering if the nice lugs / serial number could offer any clues?
looks lovely... if you feel the need to pass it on send me a pm!
+1 my shimano un26 lasted 4 monthes! with 2 bb services during those 4 monthes
