So there is someone shorter than me on this forum!
probably a competition between myself and Smallfurry me thinks
looks really good and far too coordinated to be a hipster bike!
Damn!! I knew I should have pursued the fluro option and gone brakeless.

sorry should have made it clear. the chainring. socket wrenches i have.
Please write in coherent sentences.
If you're wondering how to get the outer, or only, chainring off a TA Cyclotourist/Stronglight 49D/Sugino clone, just remove the bolts and the ring passes over the crank outwards.

yeah. i'd love to do that. but i can't get purchase on the bolts.
also. my crank puller isn't working on the cranks. it appears not to fit.

also. my crank puller isn't working on the cranks. it appears not to fit.I have a slight suspicion than some TA Cyclotourist cranks had a non-standard puller thread. I recently sold my TA tools, so I can't help with that, but you can get the cranks off with a bearing puller anyway. Once you have the drive side crank off, it should be much easier to get the chain ring bolts out.

that's what i'm thinking. TA crank puller then... anyone? or is this a trip to LBS?

Bought this viscount track frame yesterday from hassanr in holloway cycles.
hopefully next step is getting it powder coated.
](http://img99.imageshack.us/i/viscount.jpg/)[/IMG]How much did this set you back? I didn't know Holloway Cycles sold track frames and second hand stuff.

It was £250, which i think is nearer the top end of what it's worth (for a viscount), but it was local, had the wedge and it was my size, so couldn't resist. One of the employees had it advertised in the classifieds, so not really an official store sale.

Have a look through this thread https://www.lfgss.com/thread2775.html and see if somebody has either the right TA tool or a suitable bearing puller. I've got a bearing puller which would get your crank off, but I'm a bit far away.

Is there a little gap at the front of your headset?
-
• #21693
Interesting, thanks! When I called them about it and described the paintwork and stickers they said it sounded like an ex-team bike. I'm going to Liverpool with work for a few days in February so I think I'm going to take the frame up with me and drop it off there for the respray so I'll have a look.
Just trying to decide if I get all the C&G stickers put back on afterwards or just go for the standard decals. It's definitely getting a '531 is awesome' Reynolds sticker though :)
Hi Fox
I was in C&G yesterday and mentioned your Orrell, theres a picture in the office, looks like the late 1990's early 2000's of five or six orrels (road bikes) in the exact same colour scheme as yours, think they must have been team bikes the mains sponsor was Granada television which I thought was pretty cool :)

Nice powdercoating should look nice, how about a metallic black?
Why don't you just chuck the crank/chainring and put another on?
