^ nice one grandad.
This is (almost) done now. Hipster nonsense. My lever didn't work out so I had to pop this blue one on for now.

Picked up this fram this repainted Gazelleframe friday.
Getting rid of paint now and repaint it in a dark purpule that seems to be the original color.
Hopefully it will look something like this when done

what's with the crank arm?
-
• #21256
Threads were fucked on it, getting rid of it this week.
Need to find a new Sugino mighty leftarm now. -

The transformation is complete... GrannyBike™ lives! I'm thinking maybe a rack or basket on the front... ;]
Fix that mudguard please. And don't leave your vinyls in horizontal position.

What I would like to know, is other peoples opinions on bars I should run with on the build. I was thinking Cinelli's but am not sure. Any ideas are welcome
Parts bought So far:
Nitto Track Stem (already owned -90mm deep drop, maybe Jag can't remember) should this be replaced for a Shimano one at a later date?Nitto stem won't work with Cinelli bars, Shimano won't either and they hardly have a reputation as the worlds leading stem maker, so although they are good it will be hard to find one. Since you already have the Nitto stem, and are building with Japanese components throughout, a Nitto bar is the obvious choice. B123 steel or B123AA alloy would be the classic choice.

Built up this as a new /commuter/lock up in shit hole bike today.
it's fun.

Thanks mdcc, I had thought of that as it would save me money (already spent next months wages) as I won't have to upgrade the stem to Shimano if I have Nitto bars.
The only thing is I want something with this kind of curve as seen on Cinelli track bars.
I've never seen the Nitto's in the flesh but they don't seem to flow as nicely in pictures. I guess I should head down to BLB to have a look.In the meantime other ideas are welcome.

Sorry about the huge picture!

Think, Laurent... Really loooooong track ends so the mudguard has to stick out that far to get the wheel off... Capice? ;P
You're right about the vinyl tho'... -

Yeah Joe sort your vinyls out... not that I can talk.. mine are sitting horizontally as I type this...

Going down a completely irrelevant path (31.8, hugely expensive), the Pro Vibe carbon track bar is very swoopy :-)

That shape is perfect!!! If only it were 25.4 and steel :o(
-
• #21266
the standard bianchi pista track drops are a very nice shape, 25.4 and presumably pretty cheap. although don't know what make they are or if they are available separately.

welcome to my world baby (once you sort the mudguard out obviously!).
The Velo Orange rack would be perfect on the Holdsworth;
pretty expensive though, think it cost £100.
did you replace your Rolls for that Regal? if so, any chance I can buy the rolls off you?

They're made for Bianchi by Deda, and I think they are 26.0 (according to Bianchi's own site). Deda do their Velocita steel bar in a 26.0 version

Only just getting started on this build.
I managed to get it this far with spare parts (and a new BB) but am planning to replace bits when I get around to it.Still to come:
• Pedals (undecided at the moment - probably clipless for the track)
• CXP12's (dark grey - no braking surface) laced to Phils being built this week
• Longer cinelli stem
• New seat post
• Campy pista cranks

^Quite steep angles, no?
Love the all thing, (except for front radial and short stem). -
• #21271
Its a tiny bit steeper if not the same as my RIH which I ride on a daily basis, but it should be fine on the track.
I had a longer stem lined up but missed out on it for some reason. Planning on getting a 110 stem this week along with the new wheelset.

A quick mockup, not actuall stem/handlebar or frontwheel.

^ Sheeeeeet. That's one tight frame.

Remember it doesn't have a headset.

Mudguard has to stay like that, Ed... You can have the Rolls for £20... Sound fair?
