  • @hoops - I've got the tool to remove the BB if you want to borrow it? It'll have to be next week though as I've one to remove later this week when my next project arrives.

  • that would be awesome, cheers andy.

  • The paint looks pretty good in those photos, is it? I loveing that paint job. Intact I love
that bike. Really looking forward to watching this one take shape.

    Carlton project is ON.
(this has to be one of the most beautiful track frames I´ve seen/own)*

  • @spaghoops

Looking forward to seeing that one built up!

  • Some rediculously nice bikes in this thread. The Pinarello track will be so nice when youve built it. Begging for some Campag Pista wheels but then arent we all. Also eyebrow's geekhouse 2 and superprecise's mercian are stunning. chapeau to all!

I *like** the colour, the paintjob is really poor. Photos do help a bit, but the lug lining for instance, is ridiculously bad. Also the frame has been repaired, according to the seller... seized stem, meaning the the seat-lug and around 2inches around are painted on a darker shade of blue.
That´s when I´ve realised there´s no can do, it has to be re-painted. Not sure if it will be blue though, I would prefer any other colour to blue*. I´ll probly send it to either Mercian or ? to be repaired (covering brake holes), repainted (will try to get Carlton´s colour references), re-IDed (head badge and new decals)..... might even re-chrome some bits if necessary.

  • a change of saddle and bars would do it some good.

and nobody got nuffin to say about my Speedway bike? : /

  • lish.
back breaking angle saddle to bars ?

    just finished.

  • ^ optical illusion ^

  • Yeah looking at it properly, it is.

Look at all the headset spacers, and how the stem is at the same height as the (high) seatpost clamp.

  • Love the bike BTW.

  • it IS, regardless, very small for the rider.

  • Oh yeah, not denying that.

  • it does look fucked up

  • how bout 32h hubs on a track tandem>
    stupid idea?

  • it IS, regardless, very small for the rider.
...and it's still a lot of saddle to bar drop. For all we know though tick might have arms like an orangutan.

  • having stem anxiety. i guess they exist but i can't seem to find any stems with shorter vertical heights (for frames with shorter headtubes). can anybody point me in the direction of one?
i'm aware that i need grips. and by that i mean i'm aware that i don't need grips, i need drops.

  • New frame. Finally got something that´ll fit right (56x58).. To fix tho, big dent on DT.

(I know... the paintjob... well...hmmm...it was cheap)

  • having stem anxiety...........................blah.................blah........... re that i don't need grips, i need drops.

you need a bigger frame, no?

If the bottom part of the stem is like this:

...you might be able to remove the wedge bit and bolt and cut the stem shorter, while keeping the same angle of course, and making sure you still have thread in there for the bolt to screw into. Am I making sense?

  • you need a bigger frame, no?

i don't think so, it feels really nice to ride its just the stem looks foul. the rise is longer than the headtube itself? and i mean i would like some nice drops but i havn't really got round to it.

  • you need a bigger frame, no?

    And this.

yeah it makes perfect sense. i might give it a try, thanks max.

  • No probs, just don't fuck it up. Also I think there's a minimum amount of stem you should have in your steer tube. Not sure how much it is exactly but won't be hard to find that out

    Good luck dude
