This is going to Vaz tomorrow for a nip and tuck... Let's see how she responds to treatment, there are some issues... My planned winter beater, an old Holdsworth Zephyr...
A Holdsworth Zephyr as a winter beater??
who the fuck am I to talk? I got a Bob Jackson as one!
anyhow, 700c with 28c tyres will be close to a 27" with tub, as I recently discovered when experimenting with a 27" wheel and 700c on mine, with the additional benefit of having 28c tyres for the winter.

But it was at one point a frame that you were understandably super excited about, talked about it, posted about it, dreamt about the components you were going to marry to it, imagined yourself dossing about all over town this Summer on it... then a few scratches and the realisation that new frames aren't a major financial or emotional upheaval, and that they can be bought and replaced quickly and easily, not to mention the fact that you think it sounds pretty cool to say "I use a BJ as a winter hack", et voila.

I think you missed seeing it in the flesh last night by a few minutes? Lovely, lovely frame.

nothing wrong with slightly wider bars -- I usually go a bit wider over my shoulder width. more comfort, more room, more leverage, chest is not constructed so easier breathing.
Your chest is not constructed? Does that sting?

That looks really nice and tight, especially considering the size of the frame, who's building it for you Braker, did you get your measuring done at Cyclefit?

what? your "winter beater"????
No the Holdsworth you pencil sharpener.
I use the word 'winter beater' lighty, I just put it together to deal with the winter, but not necessary a 'beater'.

New frame. No indication of whoever made it. No serial number or anything.
Has been resprayed at some point with name of a local bike shop.
Columbus stamped fork ends. Oval tubes.
Maybe a long shot but any ideas on tubeset, origins etc.?
my mate had a bike with exactly the same forks and the same tubing, it didn't have the gussets/webbing but was a unique design. it was made by pendle but i don't think he ever found out too much about them...but not sure how hard if at all he tried.
nice one joe, will be popping in to see mario too as soon as i get the chance.
and that pedal atleton badged frame is pretty interesting. get it built.
