Why don't go all the way with white saddle and tape? :-) I'd do.
-
• #18053
Or heaven forbid all the way with black tyres? ;)
-
• #18054
Yep, that's an idea too. Black straps then.
-
• #18055
Of course. Replace all the white bits with black and it will be lustful IMO.

But I'm sure you are aware, that I build Sunday Bikes only, no? Well. there's loads of white stuff.

Yeah dude I've seen, they are nice, but it's always gonna be black for me.
I don't mind white bartape sometimes but thats it.
-
• #18058
Yeah, I know. Crabcore thingy :-)
I don't use them often enough to switch to black tape, to be honest.

Built for the fucking Green Giant?
That head tube is massive.
Braker, I never met you dude but I know you're a tall, summat like 7 foot. Is this a custom jobbie?
Moar steerer!
I'm 6'6'' and yeah, the head tube is ridiculous, but my saddle to bar drop is pretty small.Had a custom fork designed for it, but managed to find a carbon one OTP yesterday. :)

The photos are exceptionally rubbish, i'll try and get some decent ones sometime.

Braker, How long is that head tube? You might find it hard to find a reamer and a head set press big enough for it.

Ebay. The bars are nitto, stem vintage cinelli 1a. I bought some other track forks to drill., the original blue cinelli forks are wrapped up safe and sound. I'm not brave enough to ride brakeless in NYC and I don't mind admitting it.

no shame in that, dont worry

Good point... Headtube is 318mm so might end up with some wood+hammer tappy tappy action.

The Cinelli is a lovely... and that Nelson ace too, I bet that's rides great. Comfortable, light, stiff, sharp and fast!

very easy to make your own simple but effective headset press at any length, If I can find mine you can borrow it, should be plenty long enough

Sweet, thanks!... frame is 3-4 weeks away.

how come the frame is so big ? im only 3 inches shorter than you Mr Braker and im comfortable on a much smaller frame.
My point being the frame seems excessively big to the point of being massive. is that a fair appraisal ?
Gotta be custom, and my fuck that bike looks too big for me!
