i dont think clear coat will attach to the surface as it is too smooth (tried it on a polished steel frame and the clear coat came off very easily) i think i wil just have to polish it every now and again, fine with me i like working on my bikes

Nothing wrong with Pink bikes, or being Gay but Calling Campagnolo Campy is just Wrong

As sure as night follows day one can always rely on you for building another fuckin ugly bike! Why man, why!? It's a Mercian road frame, leave it as one FFS!

My geared commuter - a 1991 Cannondale ST600 tourer. Now just about finished after what was intended to be an evening cleaning session turned into a 3-month overhaul involving hacksaws, blood and swearing.
Gorgeous Baby Blue isn't really the colour du jour in Cambridge any more, but we're all hoping that will blow over soon. A Carradice Nelson and a battered old B17 mean there are some 'corners' of this foreign 'field' that are forever England.
What on earth is happening with your front brake cable? Looks way too long.

This arrived in the post on Friday, a very reasonable (never ridden) £100 on fleaBay.
Going to be a nice little winter ride.
Just happen to have an On One 135mm ss rear hanging around in the barn. Time to get spannering.![](http://i.ebayimg.com/08/!Bb7ERuQ!mk~$(KGrHqEOKjcEq4K3OKK7BKyPToVio!~~_35.JPG)

It's routed through a guide on the headset.

Here is my Peugeot Elan, has spent the past year being abused (public footpaths, jumping curbs e.t.c)
But I have decided to finally convert it, currently trying to find some wheels. I am then going to polish everything and then finally repaint the frame as it is a bit of a mess. If there is anything else I have missed feel free to slag it off...

Hey - looks good.
One thing RE repainting... if you want a new colour fair enough (I always prefer the org. paint job) but its your choice....
... but I had a frame that looked like complete shit and its come up well. Yours looks pretty good so maybe try a good clean and then T-Cut.
I covered the frame liberally with T-Cut, left for a bit then polished (frantic wanking motion), repeat, repeat, repeat... then wax.
Now its shiny as.

Apart from the chain (good chain, wrong colour for the bike), i quite like it.

KC - although I tend to follow the heard rather than make up my own mind IMO it looks good... not a huge fan of the paint, but I think its a decent build...
...esp. as its a stop gap bike.

Cheers, I would want to keep it the orginal colour but I don't like it and looks real crap, paint flakes, rust, scratches. T-Cut is good but not good enough for me...
I am going to paint it a Peugeot colour, probs silver along with some decals.
do with it?....think I'll just stare for a while
