  • Helicopter taping the cables up.

  • Powertap + Surly Fixxer + Wheelsmith PT conversion axle kit + Conti tyre = plus fucking what?! CONTI?! ARGHH!!!!

  • Powertap CPU

  • Just put this together untill the Bob Jackson arrives, paintwork is in great shape and nice 653 tubing

  • Got any large track frames coming up soon KingC? I'm in the market at the mo...

  • Yao Ming?

no, this is Yao Ming's bike

    custom 80cm, 29" wheel MTB

  • first of two lo pros I've been working on since the summer.. gina g finally convinced me to build this up last night while I'm sorting out technical difficulties with the other one so many thanks to her for making me get the fwock on with it.

the paintwork on this is gorgeous and it's not blue, more turquoise - I need to try some exterior shots to get it right .. the rear wheel may change, the back tyre definitely will, the ourys will be going and the bars will be chopped 10cm.. apart from that it's beautiful, light and sadly too small for me, I can't deny it... hopefully the pink frame will be just right.

  • My new bike, almost finished, need a brake lever then done really.
    Those gear levers look useful.

Also lots of bikes lately seem to be built with tyre logos/valves not matching up. Isn't anyone else as anal about this as I am? It bugs the shit out of me. Although I know some ppl like to line up the PSI rating with the valve (especially good for bike n00bies).

  • first of two lo pros I've been working on since the summer..

    Ooooh!

But made my back hurt just from looking at it :-)

  • the rider angle's quite regular really if you look at it..

  • My humble steed. Gorgeous baby blue and all. Thinking of stripping it back to the bone and giving it a clear coat.

That brake lever will give you wrist ache. Tilt it down following the line of your arm when sat in the saddle.

  • the rider angle's quite regular really if you look at it..

But the optical illusion fools my tiny brain

  • Really like that Phil, well done to Gina for giving you the push!

What's holding you up with the other one?

  • yeah gina's a beaut, for some reason I just got tired of all the trawling around to sort the pink one out yesterday and she just sort of said right get the pinarello built tonight..a good friend is gina. that sounds stupid about a build but it was encouraging and shit.

the pink one is hard to explain but it's nearing the "labour of love" stage now whereas it was intended to be "cheap fun lo pro build"... took me ages to find straight chrome (good) steel 650c forks (yeah I know....) which now need to be chopped and rethreaded so they fit so waiting on that.. and then there's been a rear wheel issue that thankfully disappeared yesterday thanks to the lovely ed "spares" scoble.. I mean I guess all of this should be documented in this thread but it's not massively interesting to others..

  • i love the 'good friend' to 'a beaut' edit :-)

GinaG rocks fi truuu , i've been on dat (been a fan) long time blud

  • heh heh.. yeah it sounded a bit "politician explaining a meal with a woman not his wife".. we are good friends, she has been a real good friend to me the last few months and it's nice she's got no problem whatsoever with the bike geekery..!

  • Loving the Pinarello. Phil. Look forward to seeing it in the flesh. Well done to Gina too, for giving you a gentle nudge.

  • hope you can see your cranks adding it some retro-primato class there andy.. cheers man ;)

  • Nice one Phil, looks like a fun ride.

I'd like to take it for a spin sometime if that's cool.

  • no probs chris - though it'll be too small for yer..

yeah it rides nice even though I look like a gorilla on it, brakeless at 12am last night round Old Street and Hackney was fun..!

  • If you're a gorilla then I'm an orangutan!

  • Here's My Gangsta

  • Is that kinda hammer/gunmetal finish on those rims?

  • Crankset and saddle..

Got a massive soft spot for those framesets, the wheels look pretty cool too.

Don't forget to take the presta/schrader adapter off, don't want to lose that.

  • Is that kinda hammer/gunmetal finish on those rims?
