  • notalezza, you are a pisstake. Not a funny one either. Why don't you fuck off now please.

  • dizzy, svelt girlie

    At your service, miss...

    fixie

    ...bah fuckoff!

  • I would help you, but I'm a strict lesbian you see

I can;t even be in the same room as you

  • search 'hot girl pic' on google, say it is you, someone will be round asap

  • Been working on quite a few lately...

The green Kelly is my daily ride and has gone through something of an overhaul these last few weeks; it's now an insanely fun bike that I love maybe a bit too much.

The red Witcomb is a build for a customer, although Re-Cycled only just missed the bus on this one. It's a shame because it's such a fucking awesome ride - It's honestly one of the nicest bikes I've ever ridden, it just has that feel... and it fits properly.

Anyway, it's going to a good home and was a bit of a steal, as well as being an awesome first build in our new workshop.

Excuse the shitty cranks - I'm gonna tell the future owner to come to me when he can afford some campys.

  • That Witcomb is quite nice, except for the pointed out, cottered cranks..
    What size frame is that?

    Cottered cranks:

    Its 62 ctc and 64 c-t

Its simply an awesome ride, the cranks are not bloody cottered! they are simply some stronglights. The frame is 531 C and is very light for its size.

Its a great bike... but just wait till i have built my roberts up!

  • Ah my bad.
I've been calling them that for a long time..
What are those kind of cranks called then?

It's a 62x59... The forks are amazing though, perfect rake. The seat stay junction is also gorgeous, the stays get pretty chunky up top.

The geometry feels very track orientated - it'd be awesome with track ends and nice drops... maybe even whack some white sugino 75s on there for good measure.

It needs a good chunk of money thrown at it for it to truly shine but it'll serve a purpose until then.

Then being when the chainring detaches its self from the crank. Damn stronglites.

  • Those are called shit old cranks.

  • Cotteless/Square Taper/Bog Standard.

I believe the the chainring is pressed to the crank. Never used one, but I imangine it's not as stiff as those with a large spider.

  • The chainring is about as round as the ford logo and will probably start to slip after a week of hard riding.

  • that Witcomb is lovely Mr. W,ii. I'd have to put some black leather tape on those bullhorns if i were you but whatever! Proper job, looks lovely.

Well cottered cranks are what Pifko showed in the picture, the stronglights are sinply cheapo track/singlespeed cranks, they are different to most cranks in that the crank are and chainring are one if you see what i mean, same as the sugino maxy's http://static.londonfgss.com/attachments/6906d1236800908-img_8121.jpg

    hope that helps

  • Shit..old..cranks.
On my list, right under wheels

  • In fact, it's one of the nicest I've seen on here recently- loads of character, probably cos of the size and geometry i think. New cranks and tape?! :)

  • @ Superprecise: Campag cranks and fizik black tape FTW.

Its just that, damn near every cottered crankset i'd seen was pressed to the chainring. I've always kept well away.

  • Any thoughts on the Kelly?

    Why thank you :)

i found the frame so will take a bit of credit... but **well, is it **built the whole thing including the wheels! he's now a master wheelbuilder :)

  • Yeh but Adam had to work his majic on the rear, remember.

Gah. I really don't want to see this bike go.

  • SOAR that is a bike where Aerospokes would look alright

I finished this today, then had to unfinish it, the black seatpost looked wank so if anyone's got a silver 26.4mm seatpost for sale, I will probably buy it

Fuck Yeah. I had one of those back when I was an actual courier. The frames all used to snap where the seat-stay and chain-stay meet as the frames were so out of alignment. Used to get it welded up by some back-street place off Shoreditch high street every couple of months. Eventually gave up and got a Saracen frame, heavy, but didn't break.

  • lovely chunky rear stays....

  • build up the Hetchins frame, finally finish.
