No, because with this mudguard, you cannot take your boots off.

I thought fk the budget, as I doubled my money selling an ALAN-rides-like-jelly .
Frame was near new. Most parts were bought used to offset frame cost.
Mainly shimano 7700. A bit of 105.Concor saddle until I find a cheap black brooks Pro.Miche wheels (used). Every fker wants a race at the lights but it's getting me fitter.I like the ride more than all the gushin' I read on the net b4 buying.Live strong! -

Would look loads nicer with some wheels of the correct period, but nice anyway.
And Dibs on the Concor when you find your Brooks. :)

why period-corrected component thought? don't really see a point in changing the component to inferior one.
-
• #16535
You do like to argue dont you Eddie. :)
If you're worried about inferior components, why not just buy a 2010 roadbike!I personally think that the weels look out of place on such a build. Personal opinion tho.

Well then why not just get a new frame as well?

Period Correct components are for people without girlfriends.

Why Ed, because that's what you have chosen in the past? There's more than one way of of doing things FFS.
-
• #16542
IMO, Mavic Open Pros look like shit. Is there a pretty rim of a similar price/quality?

To a point if taken too far maybe, but wheels are probably the thing that can change the look of the bike more than any other (outside of the frame)
If you like the older stuff then like all of it :-)

Only joking, they're beautiful.

You're right naturally, the Open Pro is a pretty decent and popular rims for it's price thought? the alternative are slighty more expensive like the DT Swiss 1.1 for instance.
crispin, there's araya rims that's nice and thin, but not sure on the pricing since it's Japanese.
-
• #16546
Some of the Ambrosio rims look 'old fashioned', can't imagine they are that expensive are they.
-
• #16547
I thought about all period.Had a look at some bikes and to be honest I don't like the early
sti's,white bar tape and I prefer higher rim walls and I don't know what else.
Besides this frame team colour has had that many re-issues their is probably one
with every every edition of every edition decent groupset riding around everywhere.
That's got to be the worst inspiration I've had today ed.But funny. -
• #16548
They have some nice deep V rims at Tour De Ville if you want to have a butcher.

In Tokyo but thanks for the thought.

Not a personal project of mine but I sold this frame to a Taiwan hipster 6 months ago.
It had a red rattlecan paintjob then. Now it's Pongo Pink.

23mm tires, 230mm mudguard. Well, bet your bum is dry. I stuck with the hybrid this morning - full mudguards FTW.
