  • Few of you may have seen my winter beater / Raleigh hack which I got last autumn. The frame fitted me so well and the ride was so damn comfy I decided to invest in a powder coat by Armourtex (who are excellent, cannot recommend enough).

So here is a sneak peek of before and after, apologies for crap pics as I do not have a decent camera facility at present.

I will post more in the Armourtex thread too.

That looks like a comfy ride. Pics built-up after Amore-tex?

  • Not built up yet. Probably wont be finished for a while.

  • this is getting a sturmy 3 speed (or being sold!)

    that's really really nice

  • Are the Sturmeys out yet?

Tilovers Singular really is a beaut

  • Those Miche one that snap like toothpick.

Ed that's complete crap, there is only one picture of a broken one and that is from prolly who broke it doing tricks, for everyone else it is fine.

    edscoble = the anti-sheldon.

    +lots to that.

can't make out form that pic if it's got proper rear mud guard mounts or if the guards are p-clipped on. fancy something similar for my surly for the winter (which lacks said mounts).

    2/3 weeks acc. mr. condor.

  • work beautifully too, perfectly fine on a track frame with no cable guide whatsoever (zip tie thought).

  • Just built this up over the last few weeks. Fancied something light and nimble. And with the tight geometry and a weight of 7.4kgs I got it.
Just need to get it powder coated now as I hate the current colour 'scheme'. Problem with powder coating is there are almost too many colours to choose from...

  • Quite like the scheme myself

    Nice build

  • Yeah, looks good.

  • get the frame painted lavender!

    maybe.

  • get the frame painted lavender!

    maybe.

I was thinking along those lines. Pink is so 2007, baby blue has now got a trademark. Think I can do any colour really as everything else is black.

  • Or apple green.

  • yeah definitely, there's nothing limiting it at all so get whatever colour you like!

My choice would be Kawasaki green or Lifeboat orange. Both would look shit hot with the black and the bike is clean and modern looking, so could definitely take it. Basically I'd go for a secondary colour.

  • This colour would look great with black or silver IMO.

In fact, i think i might use it for my next build.

  • Panasonic do a slightly darker, fuller shade which is dead nice. I definitely reckon either...

    ...or...

  • I want a panasonic sooooo much!

  • I was gonna get one ages ago. I decided on a Mercian in the end... i don't think i would ever really prefer a Panasonic to a Mercian, but whenever i see one, i cant help kicking myself a little bit.

  • And that ninja's colour looks almost identical to the panasonic, just different light, and perhaps not quite as glossy...

  • Thanks, I was looking at orange but hadn't thought of green.

  • Mate, green would look funky fresh! But you cant use it, as i am going to, and that's plagiarism.

  • like a lime Opal Fruit, it makes my mouth water

  • I agree with forms, bright green all the way! So fit.
