Yes. Contingency plan, so far I've followed quite close in father's footsteps, if that continues I still have more than 30 TT seasons ahead of me, may have to resort to old man gears at some point.

I put some parts bin stuff on this frame I just bought.
Already got white cables for it and I'm thinking about purple bar tape to fully compliment this 'epic' special paint...
I like the way it looks with the ratty parts so I might go with 11s Campagnolo levers and 9s Shimano derailleur.

Roberts early 70s TT frame. Only has cable routing for a 1x set up.
Probably will be built up fixed for now, with a neo-retro 1x Campy setup later when I find a RD.

Just bought a Raleigh rat. It’s in disgraceful condition including one fairly horrible dent on a seatstay but there’s a full 600 groupset on it, some nice Cinelli finishing kit and I think the frame is about the nicest 531 you could get off the peg BITD. Might have MGOOF potential if all goes well!

That Roberts has a nice (Ritchey like) seatpost clamp cluster.

I despise Velo Orange purely for not pre bending the seat stay bracket, the fact these need to be fully fitted, then removed and trimmed and fully refitted…but they look nice.
For reference - this is the 60 mm 26 inch mudguard on a 2.15 in tyre.

Fitted some slam, and de-stickered the rims.
I think I'm done, and I think I'm in love.

The Raleigh frames do ride well and most definitely worth MGOOFing.
The only problem is that modern chain sets are ugly. -

Excuse the crappy photo, been slowly updating this refurbed 90s Marin frame - pretty much there.
I've attached the rear derailleur direct to the frame as it didn't seem to have a hangar from new, though it's bugging me. I assume I could find one without an offset somewhere?

Haven't posted in a while. Making the most of this before getting the winter bruiser out. Sorry for the bad photo.

The Rockhopper is up and running, bit of a parts bin build.
Quite an interesting ride with the narrow bars and long stem. Needs better saddle and pedals.

Very nice! I’m jealous of the sensible cable stops. My partners rockhopper (seen above) is from the era of the seattube junction cable guide so it’s not possible to sensible install v-brakes as you have done!
A less shiny bottle cage would finish this off nicely.

Excellent rear light placement.
Certainly not worth the ridicule when they disbelieve your explanation of how it got up there😳
