  • They’ll look great. Got a retro WI vibe

  • Thanks! Yes I think you are right. I updated the photoshop-file.

  • This was very satisfying and a piece of piss. Oven cleaner is no joke. Finished with a green abrasive pad for a brushed look.

  • Wow! I woun´t have imagined that they look so nice after paint stripping and brushing. Looks like a factory finsh.

  • Really I'm really chuffed with the result. I've never stripped anything like this so I was worried they'd come out looking blotchy or rough and that I'd have to polish them, but a bit of directional sanding with the abrasive pad did the trick nicely.

  • After moving house just before Christmas, I now have a bit more room for bikes, so finally got round to building this up.

Thanks to @¡apesta! for the frame and fork and to @broken_777 for the wheels. Needs tidying up clearly (look at the brake cable for a start) but just taken it out for a maiden ride around the block. First fixed bike in god knows how long, and remembered to keep pedalling for the duration.

  • Summer is coming, I did get some bike out of the shed.
The pink need drop, the blue canti frame need canti, the last one I don't really need it.

  • Wow nicely done! The brushed look is great

  • Nice build! Looks clean and functional

  • Very strange. I have 2 Kona projects on the go at the moment.

Super clean build. B has those Paselas on his bike now. Lovely tyres.

  • Wicked that - what are the wheels/rims ? And no surprise there’s Paselas on there ;)

  • Hubs are Dia Compe. Rims are ones that Martin (@broken_777) recommended, not sure of the brand.

  • Wow, they look great! Good work.

  • Tidy. Like many other former Paddy Wagon owners, I regret getting rid of it.

  • Had a go at some fabrication for out upcoming trip. Pretty happy with how it came out, and the Wit Slingers rando bag is of course on point.

  • That is very tidy. Is it safe to assume that the bag has a solid base? Or something to keep it from sagging?

  • Yep. Plastic sheet insert in the bag and two velcro tabs on the outside to keep it from bouncing.

  • Townie project. Braking is shit, using drop bar levers on sweepbacks simply doesn’t seem to work…

  • having the same problem. Try angling them so the lever pulls just below (or above) the bar. This seemed to help in my case

  • Or just get the horse for the course

  • Completion this weekend was scuppered by a bottom bracket issue.

    Should be done soon.

  • Higher bars to try out on its way, then I'll shorten brake hoses. Also needs set back post, maybe in 27,7.
Seems to work ok, and I like the beach racer look it has.

  • Looking good! Hope the bars are comfy :)

  • They are. But more rise needed.
