  • Thanks for this, I honestly couldn't figure them out, have neve done any hood / bar setup before so was only trying to fix them by rotating at the stem mount.

Will still probably swap them but good to know I wasn't losing my mind.

  • Apologies that 30 seconds on Google didn't bring up the exact make and model of bars that belagerent has 🙂

  • Looks like the brake levers are already in the right position, only thing you can do is rotate the bars up a tiny bit.
Swapping sounds like a better option though

  • Some updates on the winter bike.

    • Back to V-brakes after a little cantilever adventure.
    • Shorter stem and Sim Works Getaround bars
    • Still need a front rack. Can´t really decide between fitting a Wald basket on a more nimble cantipost mounted one or go for a beefier Pelago in small/medium.

  • Haha, that’s sick!

  • mindblown.gif

  • Omfg. Any more photos of the process?

  • To the matching bicycles thread pls

  • Yeah, I want to see how he lengthened the head tube!

  • Hold on, are they two different frames?!

I thought he actually choppers and made it Full sus.

    😂😂

  • That would be one heck of a hack though.

  • First one is a Ribble.

2nd one is Marino from Peru.

  • Haha yes that's right!
I designed it in such a way that I could use most of the parts from the Ribble.
    Still added some extra things though;
    -New chainring
-Went from 2 pot to 4 pot Deore brakes
-Bigger brake disk in the rear
    -Shorter stem
-Increased the fork travel from 150 to 160mm
    -Chain guide

  • Excuse the shit phone photos. I finally cobbled this together after the frame was sat looking sad for the best part of a year. Mish mash of different bits but it rides quite nicely, I just need to sort the hood angle out. The paint has seen better days though.

  • drop bar mtb, ATB, whocares... should be fun anyway.

650b/27.5 wheels in this frame build for 26inch wheels, so max. tire clearance might be a bit limited. race- and speedking in 2.2 will have to do.
    as usual, work in progress.
10 speed with gevenalle shifter, no high speeds with 34/11...
    fork from the light blue/identiti
narrow mtb crank (156mm q factor)
    pnw coast handlebar (52cm)
    hope hubs and wide rims
pedals are just for first setup. hoods and drops not final.

  • Your chain is slack

  • why are you putting drop bars on? it will ride like shit

  • but it will look fast.

it's somehow a rebuild with an nicer ec34 frame.

  • Love this bike - don't let it die!

  • I dunno man, looks pretty butters to me
cotic designed it lovingly around a flat handlebar, embrace that

  • +1 looks sweet imo

  • with the aid of lots of random bolts and spacers i had in my parts box i managed to put two racks on the stupidest bike i could put two racks on, and go fishing on it

i have yet to find if the rear rack can take any real weight as i haven't caught shit
