  • Hehe yeah I wish it was a bit bigger ;,)

It’s even got the fake Chris King headset @Hulsroy sold me.

  • amazing

  • What size is it?

  • Found some nice second hand forks and decided to build a mainly parts bin functional bike.

  • I was planning to buy some 650b wheels and 47mm tyres, but I think I'll leave it like this for now.
Still need to find a way to make the pizzarack a bit better...

  • Also have these forks and am stumped about best pizza rack fitting. Was contemplating making the attachment.

  • Yes unfortunately the forks are just a bit too wide for the rack... otherwise we could've fitted the mounting plates on the inside of the rack.

  • Longer bolts with spacers?

  • Prepping for the Trans-Cambrian Way this weekend.

  • fantastic bike. looks even better with the fatter rubber.

  • Yep, this is really really good.

Love the hubs and the Klampers.

  • Quite the page

  • still got plenty to do but the first test ride round the corner went ok

the only thing is the chain ticks a lot when it comes on to the ring, this is my first time doing both 1x and hot wax so i don't know why... i think it's just too much wax and it will be ok if i clean it off/ride more?
or did i fuck something else up?

  • No idea but that’s v cool. If you put it in a stand can you not see where it’s ticking?

  • thanks

it ticks as the chain comes onto the top of the ring (only under load)

there's way more wax flaking off than i was lead to believe hence my too much wax theory... or maybe the chainring is just shit 🤷

  • In my experience it takes about ten minutes of riding to shed the excess wax.

  • That's superb, what is it?!

EDIT: oops, that was for @shinkuu_kiss

  • @Tijmen
👍 i will try pedalling better for more time

    @jono84
it's an older felt that i stripped the paint off
(can't remember the model as i bought it a while ago)

i was looking for an allez sprint but couldn't find one in my size where i am, the geo on this looked good for me and the price was very very reasonable

  • That chainring is a narrow/wide? If so is the chain lined up with it right?

  • Really like this bike

  • Yeah and yes, double checked now but unfortunately it was not just me being stupid

I'll just ride it and hope it goes away

  • the only thing is the chain ticks a lot when it comes on to the ring, this is my first time doing both 1x and hot wax so i don't know why... i think it's just too much wax and it will be ok if i clean it off/ride more?

I find some narrow/wide chainrings are just really noisy. Not sure I'd call it a "ticking" noise, but the chain/chainring makes a lot more noise than a 2x ring.

  • It'll all wear into each other soon and the noise will go away...

  • Deserves its own thread. Does this normally have a dynamo front wheel? Looks like a SON light at the back.

  • Thanks! I might set up a thread for it.

It's got a full SON setup - Dynamo and both lights fitted. And a Sinewave usb charger for touring, that I haven't used yet.
