I love that bike. Saddle is way too fresh for that build, though I get the colour. Can’t you take it off and kick it around on some tarmac?

cheers. I'm sure it'll bed in.
the saddle on there previously was suitably ratty, just didn't suit my arse very well. -

Just bought this on eBay. Plans are to slap some hydro brakes and some mudguards on and ride it as is for the time being. Might eventually upgrade the rear mech and shifter but will try and avoid spending too much extra for now until I decide how much I like it. Also going to throw on some @M_V made bullmoose bars that @Chak was lovely enough to give me.

Picked this 98 Santa Cruz Heckler up on eBay for a good price while looking for a pub bike.
Gonna replace the xt's with some old raceface xc. Will keep the xtr 9 speed on there but removed the triple.
Stuck a shorter stem, my pedals, and some poser tyres on. Other than that all it's had is a service. Even the juicy 3's work fine with new pads.

I normally don't really like gumwalls, but they look amazing on this bike! Looks loads of fun, enjoy!

It's either a Trek Touring or Trek 920 rack

On further inspection of the eBay listing, it's not a specialized at all! It's listed as "Bontrager front rack pizza" which I don't think is a thing.

Bontrager do the Carry Forward rack which looks similar at the top, but it's not that

I've got a spare set of 100/135mm QR 650b disc wheels with 2" tyres, what frame should I get to put them on? Low budget flat bar town bike/shopper affair sort of thing.

I wanted to change bartape on my old dropbars so I swapped stems. I stripped the top cap in the process, and to top it off, I didn’t even tighten the compressor properly. I miss star nut, metal steerer days. It’s only a little loose but I don’t think it’s a good idea to ride the bike like that. Take up walking again until sort it out. ** Ok I was able to remove with it no problems. I got scared for a moment.

I’ve put this together. Not sure what to call it … Alt bars, gravel bikes and bikepacking has blurred the boundaries now.
I guess it’s a multi-terrain ‘exploring’ bike.. I like the old 90s term ATB “all terrain bike”
It’s a Cotic Solaris - the original model .. in a rare 16” size - which they didn’t make for very long. Surly forks, stupid bars, 43c gravel king SKs on pacenti Tl28 rims. SRAM attack with Xt 9 speed. Middle burns sporting a 33t ring. Chain is too short so I’ve not ridden it yet - except up the street. Bars are amazing for climbing but low speed turns not so much
