Someone sent me them too, seemed unusual. I'd be surprised if they were built around 650b. They'd be good for tracklocross/off-road fixed I guess.

The fork a2c is 390mm which seems kinda 650bish. The picture of the rear tyre doesn't really show it properly cos of the angle but the max clearance in the chainstays is much further away from the bb shell.

Could be 26 1 3/8? It’s remarkably close to 650b, 590 vs 584. Was 26 1 3/8ths CSW a thing?
-
• #126005
Id say they are 26"

• #126006
I'm with spotter, if a 43mm tyre doesn't fit in the front at 584, 590 would be even tighter. 26" isn't a reason not to build it up imo.

I thought 650bx47 was equivalent in outer diameter to 700cx30? I should clarify the tyres in the picture were 700c.
But ye looking at a few speedway bikes/frames it does look like 26" was more common.

590 (26 1 3/8) is closer to 584 35 or 38 init? The actual rim size has little bearing on overall tyre diameter. But y’all are probably right at it being 26”.

Ohh! Any interim build plans in any case?

26" stuff is cheap and plentiful and you could easily run chonky tyres

Yes

I had my saddle nicked a while ago, and they also nicked my seat post screw, so I had to chuck that as well. Bought a cheap saddle and post so I could keep riding it.
Might buy one of those cheap plastic spyder knockoffs? Been trying to find a cheap flite or slr but no luck, anyone had any experience with them? This guy seems to think they're alright

Fixed gear bikes are returning to LFGSS. Slowly, nature is healing itself.

Don't get that ugly saddle. I will sell you an SLR for cheap.

Is a white SLR XP any use to you? It's not doing anything useful in my parts bin, so £15 posted. 2009 manufactured, one careful owner, low mileage (<150 total, half of them indoors)

Sold one, still have the other.

@mdcc_tester that's very kind of you, but I'm not sure about the colour white

Noticed this too and can't pretend I haven't been keeping an eye out for a project frame. Will be interesting how our knees get on considering it's a decade since the heady days of 2008.

You were right. I had some old 26" wheels from a retro MTB I bought, took the cassette and spacers off so it would fit in the back and it definitely is for 26 inch. There's heaps of space in the front, back not so much but could probably get a 2.2/3 inch in.
@alialias well I was already slowly building a retro MTB fixed gear but chainline issues slowed it down. So maybe I will get hold of some wheels and put some together. Not sure what to do about braking, maybe just run small gear and go without.
Anyone got a 120mm fixed hub on 26" rims? lol

Get a 6-bolt disc hub and a bolt-on cog? There's a thread on here somewhere with loads of details, velosolo sell them

Yes, but not for sale :)
Doing my own 26” fat tyre fixed wheel build!
There were actually three, @coventry_eagle bought two and then another came up. Ye someone else did suggest that. All the other cycle speedway frame I've seen have very small headtubes though and idk but it doesn't seem like something that would be outsourced to China considering the small demand? Maybe I'm wrong.
