  • Pretty pleased with my rugged tourer.

  • Finished repainting my Chromag. Not as even as planned, but I like the different sizing now.

  • Thats cool. Whats the technique and what kind of paint did you use? @PhilDAS what do you think ;)

  • hot!

  • That looks like a pink base with Montana Effect Crackle paint and glossy clear.

  • That's a lot of death metal logos, you must really be into music.

  • Rebuilt a mates 2000 Litespeed into something more modern.

  • Cool, what's the weight on that?

  • Dunno, don't have decent scales. But it feels pretty light...

  • As @Thrust says it's a Montana pink followed by Montana grey crackle. The uneven sizing is an advanced technique where you paint the base coat, leave it 6 months before realising the crackle effect requires a fresh base coat so you chuck on a bit more paint as quickly as possible and hope for the best. Spray.bike lacquer over the top.

I'd recommend the crackle since it doesn't require any painting skill to get a decent finish without runs etc.

@hp93 That's one way to look at it. Not sure many death metal bands have pink logos though!

  • the bar angle is a bit hy but nice yellow touches !

new gentlemen pedals liotard NOS, Simplex 26,6 seatpost (The Campag was 26,4...)

Have to change rear rim and it's a cool bike for my collection...*

  • I know, @gaston but the mate has a bad back...

Nice project ^, looks a bit like my Miyata SR750.

  • I know, @gaston but the mate has a bad back...

Talk him into some compact drops!

  • that looks ace! I was thinking of painting my retro/pub/shopping bike with montana crackle. was it easy enough to do?

  • Easier than the base coat to be honest. Definitely go for it.

  • Bullets agogo

    Only burned myself three times

  • Finally managed to work on this this week. Shimpagnolo, courtesy of a Jtek adaptor. Just need to cut the steerer and finished. 7.99kg.

  • That's great. Really neat and I like your gendering for polarity (or at least that's what I assume it is).

  • Where does one learn this wizardry? School or better up YouTube? Is there a Sheldon for dynamo-tinkering?

  • Yep. Hub to light is AC, but the light outputs DC to the rear. This way I don't need any colour ID.

  • Bit of YouTube, bit of reading, bit of having a dad that did it, bit of doing soldering at school. Hardest bit was trying to find cheap connectors and wire that would work well, and then working out how to manage everything without three hands. Those bullets are still a bit big, and trying to get the connectors on the wire that was still routed through the rack and frame was awkward as.

  • I did this too on a bush&muller, I think my connectors were smallers but works very well since 2 years all weather!

  • Good job !!! Awesome wheelset!

  • Thanks! I inherited this along with the Percanni I posted before.

It had some Fulcrum 5’s but I couldn’t let the c24s gather dust and want to ride the Shorter as much as I can.

The sizing, including crank length is way off for me, but as it is in the picture the dimensions are really close to my daily rides. I might even lower it right to the headset cap.

All together I’ve swapped the wheels, saddle, bars, stem, pedals and put new tyres and chain on. Rides like a dream.

Really impressed with the performance of the Jtek. Hope that holds up over time.
