Here's another, both we're caked in matte black paint so there's no loss here.

I have an air compressor and a powder gun- a makeshift oven out of a pot/barrel and a halogen cooker for smaller parts and my dad is going to buy/maybe build a bigger oven for frames.
This is the test frame we did with a engine crane holding the frame up and a gas heater positioned in the correct places to get the powder to flow properly.

Love the hammered black!

Got a whole bunch of beat up parts to test things on next week- gonna order a couple of colours and come candy top coats and see what happens with it all.
The best part about it all, is that if you have parts that are pretty scuffed and scratched up, even deep scratches, they'd near enough disappear when the powder has hit it.

I'm sure if you documented your equipment and how you do it (maybe in one of the paint threads or the framebuilders' forum), you'd get a lot of interest.

I'll definitely take my camera up to my dad's next time around (I'm yet to bring it all over to my own little workshop). I'm going to pick up a metallic silver or maybe a mirror chrome to use with the candy to see what it looks like.

Look forward to it.

Aye, I use a powder coater in bristol, warren at Bristol motorcycle powder coating, he is the tits. Multiple frames turned around quickly, with the cleanest, thinnest paint I have seen, but it’s bomb proof. I’d love to paint myself but there is just no need with him around!

This has been built for a month or more but been missing a headset piece so just started riding it yday. Its sublime. oh so nice ;)
Sits at 8.1 kg in the pic but 7.7 with the tubs. Not terrible for a size 60 chromed steel ride with paint to dazzle.

Really nice. Is it ahead type of headset/forks or did you use a conversion?

• #120721

This is good! Is it a repainted frame?
I'm liking the tyres. Is this the bike you're going to use for cx?

Thanks. Yep it's a repainted (powdercoated) Pompino

Yep, in the North West Cross League. Tyres are Vittoria Cross XG Pro and they've been sitting in a padded envelope since I bought them off @umop3pisdn in Jan 2014(!!)

Hope they serve you better than me, I only used them once and crashed.

sells haunted tyres
Yes, for a steel frame with a threaded fork without SLR it's not heavy : )
but I have not yet say my last word...
