Replaced the headset on my MASH during my lunch hour at work - integrated headsets are so convenient, only needed allen keys some grease. Well, except for getting the crown race off. Took the fork into Evans Cycles & they wanted £15 to remove it! Absolute joke for five minutes work. Cycle Republic did it for a fiver in the end, much more reasonable. Headset has a much lower stack height so huge space stack now, hmm.

less likely to come loose, the problem with slamming.

Looks fast! Always liked the Aurelius frames Marek got done. Miss him now his shop is no longer in Leeds city centre, was my go-to place for bike maintenance & gawking at shiny, expensive bikes.

Asking as they're usually cast alu as it's supposed to bend/snap in the event of a crash so you won't damage the mount/dropout.
As you mentioned, the replacement looks like cnc billet so just wondering.

Sure sure. It's a steel touring frame it's attached to, so I'm more concerned about that hanger's resistance to damage than protecting an aluminium or carbon dropout, anyhow.

Not a project as such but this bike has had a lot done recently (and eaten a lot of cash). New shifters and rear mech, 130mm stem, new tyres, chain and cassette and a lovely Chinese crabon seatpost and saddle. And new Chinese bottle cages from Aliexpress.
Six years now old this frame. Not very light, not aero but it shifts when I’m in form.

How do you like the powerbox cranks? Tempted to get the planetx ones

Received a Grammo for the Victoria, not convinced about the result, stem has too much stack height right ?
Also, remove a complete 9 spd Chorus (except Headset, Seatpost and crank who are Record) from a stunning Ciöcc to build up the Moser..
Ciöcc will be listed in classifieds soon (once cleaned)

It’s not the prettiest or lightest power meter but it works perfectly. I’ve got two and have been really impressed.
Great deal at PX at the moment.

Have you bought any of the paid upgrades?
Don't know if I should wait now and see if some come up secondhand even cheaper. Also don't know what length I should go for. -
• #120139
Not bothered with upgrades. The l/r balance is estimated and I think it can only be done on Android.
Not seen any second hand but P2M come up regularly.

Pls excuse the rubbish phone photo

I've heard good things about these. Really need to get back into XC again properly at some point.

Nearly finished my new bikepacking bike . Needs a 10 speed cassette , bigger tyres a 400mm seat post and a not purple saddle.

Unless it's uncomfortable I'd keep it...
You need bigger tires? -
• #120146
I'd say keep the saddle

seatpost alarm ensues... the nags looking great, but what is that great big rubber thing on the top tube, that has to go! : )

• #120148
It's a slightly different shade of purple than the logos and I prefer a Gobi to an antares

The tyres are 2.1 at the moment and I've got a 2.4 ardent and a 2.2 Ikon in the shed which is a better all round combo imo.

Nah saddle has to go, looking a bit memphis design that. Very cool bike.
I have a spare 6800 172.5mm crank with 52/36 and 50/34 rings that I need to clean and photograph for the classifieds. They do have some small markings but really nice condition. Interested?
