Yeah I do. Quite Comfortably actually. I actually set that bike up mainly for long, comfortable rides - Believe me when I say it's really nice to ride.

Nice bike, but the frame doesn't look like a Colnago, the lugs looks off
Yeah I'm pretty sure its not a Colnago, I bought the frame months ago on the bay for cheap, I never really thought it could be a genuine colnago as that'd be just too lucky for the price I paid, but it seemed like a decent enough frame with no faults and I thought I'd build it with some decent parts that I can then transfer if I buy a more thoroughbred frame.
It rides lovely and I like it so surely thats the main thing? -

enjoying the ride is defintely the main thing, regardless of the make.

cheers ed, glad we're on the same wavelength!

Grrr, I'm itching to get mine now damnit, Ed reckons it will be my first and last bike, but I think it will be an ongoing project like my Dad's golf mk2 ha!
-
• #11907
pretty sure bike projects are never finished! so theres probably a fair few "mk2s" around!

I think my main concern is to learn how to ride such a thin bike, learn how to control it, pedal it, braking as I'm used to mtb/jump/bmx bikes etc. Then see if im comfortable with the handlebars as it is, and then converting it to singlespeed hopefully with some help of you lovely people flutters eyelashes and thennnnnn we'll see...

This is my current project trying to get this in original condition someone sent me the original sales sheet with the price in 1987.

finally got this piece back from ted (dropouts changed brake holes filled front and back and braze ons removed)
shamal for the front (i need to glue the tub on first)
it is actually silver, but i took the photos off my lappy so they came out shite
ITM Francesco Moser hour record stem and bars or the shotgun stem as i like to call itmore to come after the next paycheck
i rang niel orell cycles earlier and found out the frame is not actually 531 professional and is actually ishiwata tubing and was origionally made for a 700c front wheel up front
im quite happy really because i am afraid that i might build up a lo pro and find its really awful for riding and really uncomfortable

your best option is to get those Nitto front rack.
Yeah they're nice but the one on the Puch looks like one of those ones that mounts on the fork crown. I was just interested to know which it is. My front rack is the more traditional (?) style (support legs down to dropouts).
Maybe its just me, but looks like you need to get some kind of fork to get that rack added on
Yeah you need those things brazed on your forks (like in the picture) or bosses (like the bottle cage bosses/mounts on the downtube). You can use P-Clips if you don't have forks like this though.

I gave up reading the thread, too much niceness.
- I think i should be given extra credit for allowing my bike seed to be sown around the country.
- SP will you marry me.
- I miss aimless london riding.
- the GH2 is due soon.

Thats good to know, as if I ever want to have a rack like that, id rather mine was at the front not the back.

good choice, girls with racks on the rear dont generally get much social acceptance -

Hope the travels are going well

it's a pletscher-rack. i saw it on some old lady's bike and figured i had to get one. found it nos from the bay years ago but never had a bike/fork that fit it. nice coincidence that those puch mistral forks fit perfectly.
edit. found a pic. mounted on my other puch:

Yep - pretty sure that's an Orrell - I can tell by the BB shell number - they all start (as far as I know) with NA. Neil (still) makes frames from his shop up in Manchester (631 these days), it's impossible to find anything out about him online but give him a call on 0161 681 1517 and give him the frame number and he'll tell you when it was made.
Every track Orrell frame I've seen (so far) is triple triangle, but it's hard to see any online - do a google image search for neil orrell bike or similar and you'll see what I mean.
Mine is blue and yellow like yours but it doesn't have fades - it's a late 80s/early 90s track frame. The blue and yellow are in different places though. But entwidomela has this:
I wonder if it really made it to Germany? Interesting that triple triangle road Orrell's exist.
Im glad you posted this up Fox as there's been a few updates since this was taken.
Got it stripped, puppy-killed and then resprayed by the local auto painter. It's come out mint and significantly better than a powdercoat, although somewhat more expensive as well.
Still got to swap the cranks out and have the rear wheel built but have the old flip flop on there for the time being. For the eagle eyed, no im not running it brakeless SS. I've only got a 3/32 chain so couldn't place on the track cog.
For those who are wondering, the bars in the top 2 pictures are cut down 3TTT bio quartettos. They're late 80's model pursuit bars. Previously owned by Jos and Eyebrows I believe.
Crane - Yes all Neil Orrell's start with NA xxxx. If you are getting decals, let me know how they come out. I obviously need to get my gritty hands on some as well.
Fox - Your Bluebird is gorgeous. Well done on the build. There's not many Neil's around from what I've seen. Apart from yours and Crane's there's a maroon triple triangle track that belongs to one of the lovely ladies here but can't remember her name.

Looking forward to seeing your new build Crane, looks like it's going to be a goodun'.
Nice bike Pifko but I asume that you never ride in the drops?!
