lovely frame paint+graphics on that..

The bottom photos make it look really nice, don't they? In person the general rust and muck on the frame make it look more brown than green tho :(
@Vince so satisfying! It's been bugging me since before Christmas.
The rest of the build should just slide into place now (LOL) - I'm hoping to have it done for the Dorset Gravel Dash in late May.

Really like that. The bars and saddle give it a sort of rusty industrial feel

Looks my size... 56?

• #118533
sweet!

Yes, it was advertised as a 55 but I was happily surprised when it turned out to be a 56 :)

Need one in those colours (to go with the Telekom jersey I've got ;-)).
-
• #118536
I‘d happily trade it for your stuttgart any day :)

Sold that one to a friend. Still regret it... (was equipped with full CdA groupset...).

I don't mind patina at all.
I think I'll paint a bike that colour. -

It's the second bike I've bought where some weirdo has put loads of duct and electrical tape on the frame. Why?! I need something to take the shitty residue off and cut back a layer to release the shine/patina.

Nooo, I was already getting my hopes up... The correct group for the telekom would be c-record but I‘ll build it up with a DA to make it more usable.

Limonene, either from your favourite chemical supply house or your local shop

That's ace. Does the Straggler have (semi)-horizontal dropouts?
Yeah they're quite odd, I wonder how much hold they really have when the wheel is pushed all the way forward, resting on both the vertical and horizontal section. Not heard of any issues (apart from pain with wheel removal and alignment) but going to keep an eye on them.

My Dawes has been mostly out of action as I keep nicking parts for other bikes but here it is with a cheap Condor seatpost and it's very own crankset. 32c Gravel Kings and possibly still space for guards. Not pretty but it's a good work-horse and great over any roads in bad condition, up to forest tracks but mud's the limit.

7700 group collected, wheels laced, tyres mounted - somehow despite checking it I managed to put the rear on the wrong way around. sigh.
Bars are temporary

That's looking great, maybe different to yours but my Veloflex's logo should be on the NDS for correct rotational direction, unless we're talking correct Instagram direction?
-
• #118546
That's a good question, I hadn't looked closely enough to note a difference in direction to the tread.

Love that frame. I’d say dibs but looks big
-
• #118548
Tis a fair old size, 61cm c-c. Lucky to find really one so large.
-
• #118549
Ok, we will have to come to a deal: you sell me that frame or I sell you my C Record groupset. ;)

I’ll think about it :)
RJ has a video about doing it this way. A small stiff brush would work too although maybe not as well.
