I'm tempted to try and lighten the bike up with a carbon Seatpost and better wheels but not sure it's worth it.
Personally, I would redo all the cabling, Cannondale's cabling is never their forte, especially the brakes.

Yeah that's the plan βΒ Meg has my PDA530's on her Koga at the moment, she's been threatening to give them back recently ...
I would recommend 1x drivetrains to anyone starting out.
This. Unless you live up Ventoux, or a hill in Leeds.

Killer.
I thought the rear brake bosses were for U-brakes on those, how d'you fit a V on it? -
• #114588
U-brake posts are above the braking surface, not below

Indeed - was it V/canti mounts on certain models then? I had a Timberline with U on the rear, but I guess better models had cantis front and back or something?
-
• #114590
depends on the model. The ones from the 80s usually had Us. This one is Ricochet, mid 90s.
-
• #114591
Timberline, older Zaskar, Tequesta... I know those had U brakes on the back.
-
• #114592
Gotcha, cheers! I was always glad the avid single digit I had upfront was so good, as the u at the back did about as much slowing as sneezing forwards would have.

Hahaha, exactly! Cheers

The U on my old Kuwahara was pretty good. Have to remember you need a canti (or adjustable) lever to get the right leverage ratio. I used old LX levers so I could run a V on the front

Since getting my day one about 6 months ago I've been occasionally trying to stop an awful creaking coming from seat tube/seat post/saddle area. Tried a couple of different clamps (currently Thomson) tried grease, tried greasing saddle rail clamp, all sorts. Was wondering if it was the cambium.
Finally sorted it today, silence at last.
Nice work on the 27.3 seat tube Genesis.

Any slim silver guards that will fit over a 23/25c tyre?

Metal or will plastic suffice?
-Edit-
For plastic I'd go for SKS.
Forum favourite for metal seems to be PDW.
SJS will have your needs covered. -

Silver wheels not on yet , silver bars now on. Not bad for mostly parts bin.

so I just got this P3 shaped frame on the cheap (yes its a Chinese wonder).
I'm going to run it as a road bike with drop bars (yes I know its a time trial frame and this is heresy but I'm satan.)
To give you an idea of the plan, I've bought some cheeeaaap Roval SL45s for it and it'll have Ultegra 6800 throughout. I've also ordered a black 'Romin' from Aliexpress to continue my rolling advert for Chinese knock-offs.
I'm asking, what stem do you reckon would look good? I'm thinking of cutting the steerer and getting something with a relatively steep angle.
