  • I'll do that, I guess if I'm getting a new headset in a few days anyway protecting from dust doesn't matter too much. Thanks for your help!

  • I like it a lot. Can feel the weight on the hills and when accelerating hard compared to the carbon bike it replaced, but otherwise a great, especially on longer rides.

  • Yeah that's no problem to do. I've been riding for a year without a cover on top of my headset and I'm not dead, my forks turn smoothly.

  • You could try set screws if you just want something to protect the threads?

  • So, I had two OD green radavist water bottles turn up today which I totally forgot I brought and I actually do not need 😣 I need to stop buying thinks when I've had a drink.

    Anyone want them? 20 posted

  • After a nice looking modern seat post 26.8 diameter in either carbon or silver alloy. Suggestions other than Thomson?

  • Daydreaming about a new frame (v.4?) but this time more rando and 650b. I have no experience playing around with front end geometry for low trail though. I'm not going to lug around a heavy load all the time but occasionally rack top bag and lowriders. I've stolen some measurements from Yummygooey's Geekhouse and applied my own. Anything i should change? I want the load pretty much over the axle right?

  • Oh yeah because you never visit that website...

  • That geek house is amazing.

  • Just bought this for cheaps, no idea what to do with it

  • risers and one by

  • Is the TT meant to look like that?

  • ^^ this, its the only way.

  • Yep, don't ask why though.

Miiiight be a china copy, I can't find an example of one with that fork after a brief google. Also says 'confort drive spin' on the left chainstay...

1x is happening. Might need some convincing on the risers, though I did get some of those jones copies

  • picked up this one today: a end eighties Simplon Giro with 7 speed Shimano 600 Tricolor. Seller said it was size 54 so I bought it for the 6400 groupset. When I picked it up, it seemed to be 56 (my size) so will keep it but will change bartape, stem, outer cables and wheels (Campa Chorus with Campa Victory rims).

  • That's really really lovely

  • Thanks. I actually like it so much I'm thinking of upgrading it (I have a 1992 C Record somewhere).

  • I want the load pretty much over the axle right?

Not really, having 35mm trail sufficient.

  • Fu Manchu/Stedbars are on, they look huge on the tiny frame but feel spot on. Spacer tower will go once TesterCap arrives.

  • Mini winter project pretty much done. After I got rid of my expensive road bike last summer, I haven't really missed having shitloads of money tied up in a bike dropping in price and being afraid of crashes. But fast road bikes are still fun, so when this frame popped up on classifieds for £190 I picked it up. Already had the wheels, crankset, brakes and saddle laying around, and the missing parts I picked up cheap. Super happy with building a fast road bike at 7,1kg without digging deep. A Red22 big ring would be nice, but that will be later. Looking forward to spring now!
