  • The Lavoro - all built for t'track and used on t'track

    Lush.

    Nice saddle :)

  • ^ What seatpost is that?

  • Deda magic stick - HH Jumbles rock!

  • I'm guessing Alex thinks it's too far forward?
    Looks spot on to me.

Yeah you're probably right. I personally favour more laid back saddle positions. but it depends on the saddle, also. And the size and geometry of the bike, and any number of other factors. In fact, my post was pretty dense and pointless. Forgive me, I'm writing out the transcript for an interview and it's driving me insane.. for one, I cannot believe how many words can be said in 15 minutes, and secondly, I seem to be incapable of structuring any of my questions into something that resembles a sentence! I need speaking practice.

  • scuse the camera phone pics...

new black jag stem, black tee-19 bars and thomson seatpost now.. on the hunt for full gum tyres and need to do new graphics (she's a condor)

    very very nice

  • tallbike-project.. ontopic since its SS :)

    ToDo-list:
    1) Chain is worn and slack, so needs replacement.. going to use "ghost chainring" to keep it tight.
    2) Cranks hit rearbrake, going to switch the cranks to something else..
    3) Seatpost is stuck... grrrr!
    4) And some paint on the welds.

    Notice:
    SADDLE IS NJS! (Kashimax Aero)
and the wheels are 24spoke! cool bling bling! :)

    Current cost, about 3 quid.

    ...Brooklyn No. 2.

Sparkle-over-raw SR-6, spent the last few weeks gradually swapping bits from the 'old' MTB, Fox 36 Vans, Juicy Carbons. Just put a Brooklyn headset on there and got a great deal on a Ti brake arm.

Ti coil, Answer ProTapers, Brooklyn Vegeburger pedals/Stuboid zero-rise stem/new decals to come...

  • bdw, the lavarro looks ready and i reckon you are fixing on doing it justice. i like it.

scott, the merckx is so beautiful from the get go so you can do no wrong as far as i am concerned. though you will never touch the actual drops. but then i very rarely touch mine on my day to day criteriums.

the bike with all the leather work i don't understand though. just not my cup of tea. i like my brooks saddle but stitching in leather always looks fussy. convoluted.

  • I couldn't even fathom how much effort it would be to clean it once it start to rain.

OH MY GOD, That thing is immense! god i love DH bikes with a gearbox thing :) enjoy it!

  • With many many thanks to Vinyl Villain for the trips to/from Armourtex, here are the bits getting pretty close to build time, just need nitto stem/bar solution...

  • and some spokes

  • Plus maybe pedals, seatpost, bartape, etc etc etc...

  • what cranks are they?

  • Alien SS cranks, v simple and surprising good for the money I would say, got a spare set in black if anyone if keen...

so you have one of the most expensive pair of hubs money can buy and one of the cheapest cranks that are available, seems a bit odd

  • I know, weird isn't it... Step by step, fiddle, change, adapt, change, fiddle.

Life is like a box of chocolates (apparently)...

...not sure if he posts on the forum, saw it on Ebay actually, it didn't meet the asking price so I contacted him & haggled.

Had to buy it as a full bike though, would rather have just bought the f&f, but I've been swapping parts off my SX Trail so it's worked out OK, need to sell that one sharpish to fund this fecker though.

What you waiting on Scott? that brown SR-6 would be a nice addition to the collection ;)

Rocker: Thanks, no gearbox though, just the Brooklyn jackshaft drivetrain, supposed to stop chain growth/pedal bob.

  • Done..

Two punctures on the back in 12 hours though!

  • Is that the same pink Bianchi that you powdercoated it in grey?

  • What forks are those?

  • Bianchi baby.
