given the messy look of the cranks would bother you, a quick sanding/polish could bring back some glamour

I might have a Colnago Flash fork which I was saving for a Colnago frame without forks I was hoping to find someday for swap. Pm me if interested.

After a dark coloured 54 for neo-retro build.

Thinking about a Brother Kepler disc build.
Will be used for commuting, touring, shopping, and maybe some fire road exploring.
Any advice on components? Currently thinking 105 groupset...
Looking for a 32h wheelbuild that would allow me to run reasonable fast 28 or 32 slicks but also allow for bigger ones for off-road adventures. Thoughts?
I also have no idea about discs (never ridden them before) so any advice appreciated!

I do like the purple straggler... but price between the two seems the same tbh - both available for £420-£440 ish.
Any other reason to go with the straggler? Kepler seems about 100g lighter but that's nothing at these weights tbh.

4130 frames are nothing special, hence why pay more? Chose one that you like, there might be few things here and there but nothing is going to be drastically different. Spend money where it counts, make wheels lighter and get better tyres.

Taking inspiration from this (other than those spacers...)

Surly = spacers. Headtubes are tiny.

other option is a Soma Wolverine, it's not too much more.

Fed up of riding on shitty wheels, freewheel, and brake levers, decided to give it a major overhaul.
Alfine 39t chainset (come with BB) and DA 16t 3/32 fixed cog, give me smack bang on 67.0 GI, very quiet on 8 speed chain.
SRAM levers with fork mounted cable hanger, full power with no judder.
H+Son with generic fixed hubs, cheap to buy on trade from Big Mama, originally from the BMW Gangsta.
SMP Dynamic with Thomson post, so far it's pretty comfortable than the Evolution.
Much more fun in London now.

What about the All City Macho Man Disc?
Or even Velo Orange Pass Hunter Disc.

I find it hard to build up a lock up bike as it always turns out a little bit better that originally intended. It seams you got carried away as well, that's a nice bike and has some nice components as well. Pink Benotto tape is nice but a little too much eye candy for thieves.

What happened to the gangsta and the NJS?
-
• #108720
In storages, the carbon fork on the Gangsta developed a creak, so retired that for now until I find a replacement 405mm carbon CX fork.
NJS wankery is still very wankery.

Rosie and I have been fancying getting something custom for a while; today we finished the job. A little Hartley Cycles and a slightly larger Talbot Frameworks effort. The geometry is spot on, fits really well. Looking forward to taking them for a spin at the weekend.
