Yes, all Shimano 10-speed cassettes have the same spacing, so your DuraAce will be perfectly happy to shift over a lower end cassette

Rebuilt this as my work beater bike, with new big ass wald basket. Still got to attempt to get the front mudguard but it will be tight..

You need to reel that sucker in, shorten the stays till the basket just clears the tire (or fender if you manage to fit one).

It's already sitting about pretty much on top of the tyre. Might be able to tuck it in a bit more by raising the stem
-

In that case shorten the upper clamps in addition to the lower legs.

Building up a recent purchase and looking at the headset.
Picture 1: Is this normal? The headset sits correctly in the head tube, but the bottom of the headset has 90º angles and sits directly on carbon of the fork... shouldn't there be something between these two?
When installed the headtube/fork junction looks like picture 2 which isn't completely flush but also doesn't look unusual to me.

crown race?
-
• #104921
Edit, sorry, I mis-typed... the lower headset bearing does not have a 90º base, it has more of a 45º base that matches the fork. However, even so, the contact point between the lower headset bearing and the fork seems very small.
Yes, I think a crown race is what I have on my other forks but my complete lack of understanding about headsets means that I don't know if there should be one here?
