  • Upgraded Rockhopper to proper size.
Bits ended up being a bit nice for an everyday beater, but it was cheap and as I sold my 29er moving here I needed fat tyres in my life. Front wheel is shit, but ordered a new one which will arrive on monday.

    Edit:
If somebody around N22 has a 26" bolt on disc wheel I could borrow tomorrow, for a ride sunday I would be really keen on that.

  • Grips are comfy and hard wearing (dry fast too), everything that soft touch is not?

    Thanks though (;

  • Maybe you are right. I just love the look of that type of bars, on that style of bike, with bar tape. Still beautiful ;)

  • As @hamrack said, minoura gamoh porter. No facility to take panniers, but I have no intention of running/desire to use panniers on this bike. The rack does everything I need it to, and it's ~1/2 the price of soma. @spotter found some nice well priced racks in EU that would be better though and affordable, can't remember the company. That said, I 100% recommend the minoura.

  • Thank you. Can't wait to try it out.

  • My Dad finally gave me (after much persuasion) his old Carlton Corsa (post Raleigh takeover), and I hope to give it a full restoration...

Already started this morning by stripping it (minus the cottered cranks) and getting cracking on cleaning/polishing:

  • just wandering, seeing the mount for u brakes are usually higher than Cantis.

would putting a u-brake in the canti mount will enable the conversion of a 700c frame with canti studs to 650b?

Add: or centre pull is more accurate?

  • would putting a u-brake in the canti mount will enable the conversion of a 700c frame with canti studs to 650b?

The difference in radius between 700C and 650B is only 19mm, the difference in brake stud position between cantilevers and U-brakes must be over 50mm. Putting a U-brake on your 700C frame's cantilever stud would place the brake blocks in about the right place to hit a 520mm rim, which is the "24-inch" size used for small road bikes, or maybe a 540mm which is "24-inch" MTB size.

  • Please, what's this front rack? :)

  • Minoura Gamoh porteur

  • :) Happy i went for the barbers pole again

  • Did a bit of painting this arvo. Needs a final coat of lacquer tomorrow, and I need to do the stem and seatpost to.
Kept it pretty simple on this one.

  • Good job I just snapped my rain camo forks so I can't call you a copycat 😉

Looking good though. Proper mud machine.

  • Ah I was thinking of painting my Giant this colour. Looks good!

  • @ Hoops. Amazing. Who is the owner?

  • He is, I fink

  • Inspired by DSC's purple rain fork!

  • Yeah, this one is for me. Replacing my BMC.

  • I admire your work, but I have to say that I prefer the original livery. :/

  • Good job it's not your bike then!

  • Armourtex should be able to do that paint right?
