Thanks! It has a load of tiny red flashes (track speedplays, zen ring, spacer, exposure brackets) but I hope it doesn't look to vile. It is a chub hub, and I want rid of it. Just tips the whole thing slightly over the top imo.

Yeah it needs it. More for preservation than anything else. The welsh rain is mean! Its the original paint as far as i can tell and will be a shame to replace it but she is a beaut as she stands!

How about treating any rust and lacquering it? This has also got me thinking about putting record cranks on mine

Yeah its an option but the BB shell needs some love and it has alot of storage marks which dont add to the 'nice'n'used'look at all, they just look tatty. I wasnt going to do it because i couldnt source the decals (all 15 of them!) but the guy at cyclomondo sorted me out with some custom ones. It wont be happening for a while though as im broke from getting it to this stage.

yeah, MX4, just threw them on to ride it in my Kursks as they offer more support for the rest of the shoe. feels good! but I know they don't suit the bike so they'll be going...
