  • That's about perfect in my eyes

  • It's a option to get a few mm but not sure i want to file down this frame. Was hoping there is a possibility of replacing the steerer but what i've been reading is that Look can only do this and would cost dearly?

  • Wants comfort. Rides brakeless with skinny tyres.

    :-)

    Kidding. Kind of.

  • jesus that indy fab is fucking banging

if it ever comes up for sale...

  • ya thats nice

  • yes, bu it will be a while though as it is sitting back in Denmark at my parents house (and I now live in London!!!!!!!). Just rode it two days ago and it is great although it is not perfect for cx with cable on the downtube. It is slack compared to the rest of my bikes, and a little heavy but it makes up for it by being seductive with it's wishbone stay and purple fadez ;-)

  • paint looks mint, good stuff

    what rims are those?

  • Brilliant, any more ideas for the build?

  • I have some H+Son TB14's on order from HubJub to go on 32h small flange Campy pista hubs when i get around to it. There is a great LBS in Cardiff called Cyclopaedia that have done wheels for me before so ill get them to build them up. Campy Pista crankset, Izumi or maybe Shimano track chain. Ive not decided on the little details yet. Im currently in the process of sourcing all the decals (all 16 of them) with an eye for a respray at either Argos or Ellis Briggs in the not too distant future.

  • maybe Shimano track chain

If they start making one :-)

Try a KMC X101 if you want a good track chain that's not as ridiculously overbuilt as the Wippermann 1R8

  • That's not a track chain, it's for use with the Nexus hub on your shopping bike.

Sarah Storey failed to take the hour record with that chain, Alex Dowsett succeeded with the KMC :-)

  • Well thats my something learned for today. I like the look of the KMC but i've had Izumi's before and they perform well for a good price.

  • i've had Izumi's before and they perform well for a good price.

There's nothing wrong with Izumi if you ignore the progress other bicycle chain manufacturers have made since 1970 :-) In some ways, NJS rules which were supposed to protect Japanese manufacturers have actually trapped them in the past. If DID/HKK/Izumi had been as stagnant in their motorcycle business as they are in bicycles, they'd all be out of business by now. Even Shimano buy most of their chains from KMC.

  • I agree but I also think that a I should choose a chain well suited for what its going to be used for, in this case just track training. If its strong and can cope with welsh weather then its good enough for me, and the Keirin tracks too. I personally admire the NJS regulations, i think it has managed to preserve and promote a fantastic form of cycling in Japan and around the world; 'If it ain't broke don't fix it'.

  • Hate to tell you this, but all the kids in Japan train on carbon and the latest technological innovations. NJS is just for the gamblers.

  • Yeah thats what i'm on about, the original form of racing/gambling.

  • People who think NJS parts are somehow superior are the worst. Feel free to spunk £30 on your track chains.

  • I don't hold NJS parts above any other, I appreciate them for what they are simple, tried and tested, good quality track components.

In that case, allow me to direct your attention to the Wippermann 1Z1

  • Does look like good value for the money. What sets it apart from the rest?

  • KMC 510HX for a fixie chain, obviously!
