  • Cheers,
    replied.

  • First attempt. Lemon meringue next. Also a first attempt.

  • Cooked razor clams for the first time yesterday, bit of a ballache to prep and clean. once sorted grilled them for a couple of mins with drizzled garlic butter on top and they tasted great.

A lot of effort for a little nom

  • I always let other people deal with razor clams, for this reason, if you're given them prepared then they are a dream, if they are clogged full of silt and grit less so.

Saying that really fresh shouldn't be difficult to clean as slightly older ones.

CYOA, nice work on the clafoutis, good luck with LMP, what recipe you using?

  • Kingsland Pho.

One of the few reasons for returning to hipster central. I'd forgotten how much I love these Vietnamese places. Feels like I could happily eat there every night.

Awesome. I'm always tempted by these at the fishmongers. Look like a lot of meat for your money.

ours were still really fresh (they moved it you touched them, which freaked out Mrs Pun somewhat. I got them out of the shells and then she removed the gills and washed em out. You should certainly give it a go, they make a great simple starter.

delicious and they're great in restaurants when someone else has done all that crap for you as Tenderloin mentioned

  • Catching them is great fun 'n all.

I do a bad ass pasta consisting of those and little baby clams I catch near Mother CYOAs place in Hampshire.

Not a clue yet - only started thinking about it after seeing yours :) Suggestions?

  • Bunnies anyone.

Yes please, if I'm not too late...

  • here is the one we used. Although I've used delia's before as well. Best to keep it simple really. we used bought pastry as it's as good, and simple. There are some awesome lemons around at the moment, massive great things, so lemon drizzle cake and banana, walnut and lemon loaf are all in the offing also.

  • Ta very much.

CAKE I can do. And do well. My favourite lemon cake is the quite heavy version of Raymond Blanc's:

Never made a banana loaf though. But it's my favourite thing in the world to have with coffee so I should get on it.

  • i never really get involved in baking. it's something i really should do more of. banan loaf sounds amazing.

here's a few (bad) pics of some recent edible happenings. the allotment beans and chorizo experiment:

  • With loads of mint, it smells so mice. It has been sitting down marinating in Mint, rosemary and white wine...
    Lush!

  • I'm hungry. Trying to cut down on ridiculous spending on lunches in anticipation of potentially imminent redundancy.

I might be close to breaking. I really want a baguette filled with something. Possibly crayfish.

  • i *always *want a baguette filled with something. possibly crayfish.

  • A baguette filled with rabbit rillette.
I've made up my mind, Im going to setup an account with them french
company and get bread and rillette delivered to Clapton.
