Jimbo and I have been eyeing up Tosa on King Street for a while (not because of the name. Well OK, maybe a little) - must check it out!

It's a very dinky understated place on King Street. Reminded me a lot of the sushi shacks buried within Toyko's fish market though with a broader menu and a charcoal grill which we sat in front of. Not a lot of substantial stuff on the menu for veggies (ie the rice and noodle dishes all had fish sauce etc.) but they did say they would try if you ask for something to be a bit different. My fresh salad and veg tempura were perfect. Prancer raved about the scallops and his grilled ox tongue. Will definitely go back.

^Lamb bolognese, w/o onions, garlic, salt, pepper or any seasoning for that matter... jeebus Cristo.
The pasta was cooked to death and the sauce tasted of lamb, as in a meaty notverypleasant way. -

Lamb 2 ways tomorrow.
One is marinading with oil,garlic (lots) anchovies,rosemary,thyme and seasoned, to be slow roast and turned into a salad with pink grapefruit, leaves, pine nuts and crispy lamb skin. Juice used as dressing.
Other with root veg, tomatoes, and red wine. cooked for ages, take lamb out then reduce tomato sauce.
serve with new potatoes picked today and roasted with balsmic, and wilted chard.
Madre is on lemon meringue duty.
