Her prawn lasagne recipe with habanero oil is amazing
Top recommendation. Absolutely banging.

Peugeot in a heartbeat.

Oh good, Peugeot did get a shout!

I think the one I just chucked was a Peugeot. I appreciate the history but when I looked they still had that adjustment where you either tighten or loosened the knurled nut on the top to moderate the grind coarseness. I found that it just unscrewed itself through use.

Who here has nice crockery? Our plain white set is next on my purge list but feeling a bit cautious of going too extreme with the colourful options.

Found some really nice bits in TKM over the past few years.

All our glassware is from TK (Riedel ftw) but I think I’d want all the crockery matchy matchy… not sure we’d find twelve plates, bowls etc in the same line. In fact you’ve just reminded me of hunting in multiple stores for noodle bowls to get eight the same!
@Tenderloin ta, quite like these two but not sure I’ll feel the same in ten years…

Or is it GITFS?

I always wonder if restaurant stuff like Olympia from Nisbets is definitely tougher/more durable than domestic stuff which always seems to chip just from being stacked or put on a drainer.

We have a load of Yvonne Ellen crockery that the wife bought with all the vouchers we got for our wedding. I can't find pics of the exact ones, but they're a bit like this.

You have much bigger dinner parties than us! We picked up sets of 6 from the Maxx and that's fine for matching requirements...

I've had some IKEA stuff for the past ten years (very much on the cheaper end) where I don't think I've chipped anything despite being fairly bashed about.

It's bloody expensive to do - we ended up going for two sets of 8 matching tableware which we use for when guests come and then we have other plates/bowls which we use most days which we have 2-6 of.
@dubtap I'm not sure if it's tougher but as it's not seasonal, it is easily replaceable. We have some plates from there which replaced the previous Ikea jobbies and they're some of the ones we use most often

found this houmous in morrisons recently and it's delicious
with some nice sainsburys wholemeal pitta breads, lightly toasted, a delicious snack

Given how much emphasis the marketing puts on using the traditional Mediterranean family recipe etc, I thought it was a bit crap that this is made from rapeseed oil not olive
You can make proper hummus in about two minutes, for less money and a lot less plastic waste

but it's absolutely yummy

I made low calorie hummus.
I do not recommend it.

From cabbage?
-
• #32723
I said low calorie, not affront to decency.
iirc, it has less oil per chickpea or similar. It wasn't the worst, but it was a bi of a pitiful substitute, and just didn''t work.

Have you had Morrisons pitta bread? Their own brand, called “stone-ground” or something like that is far superior to any other supermarket offering. Everyone I’ve told of this has quickly converted.
I know I’m at risk of overstating this, but we often go there just to pick up some pitta when we need some

i bought a 6 pack at sainsburys and a 6 pack from morrisons and the saino's was definitely nicer. not sure which morrisons one it was though. will try next shopping trip
With the pepper cannon ones being stupid money, I always thought something like a Timemore could make a very good (and clean looking) pepper mill. I’m tempted to get another one and flip the grounds container over to use a handle (with a bit of bodging to include a hex bolt to connect to the drive shaft) if that makes sense.
