Got loads of left over mejadra. Fancy slow cooking a bit of lamb to have with it tonight. Anyone recommend a good suitably middle eastern recipe?
-
• #27381
For lack of anything specific was just going to stick a bit of lamb in a casserole with onions, garlic a few gentle spices, a tin of tomatoes and pot roast it till it's fally aparty.

Something suitable for neophobic parents in their late 60s. Will be hard to find places that aren't a bit friday evening office party i imagine. Thought about German Gym but thought maybe it's a bit heavy for a warm summer eve.
Would have gone for Caravan but it's fully booked.

When you almost inevitably fail with that approach (so many times for me) you could do worse than sit outside at the Granary Square Brasserie next door. Perfect for a parent dinner. Nothing scary, nothing bad, nothing amazing. A good view.

Granary Square Brasserie next door
Huh. I didn't try the Brasserie. Can't remember why... Oh yes I can, £16 for fish & chips, £30 for a rib-eye... I was tired and grumpy last night and thought "fuck that". Am I out of touch? with London prices now?
Booked it anyway!

No problem dude. Which place sells them?

Caravan did. Brought my current cup from there. Had a quick look on their website and it doesn't appear. Hoping they still have stock in store..

I shall pop in and ask. I have a soft spot for the staff there since they did a god job of looking after my daughter's forgotten My Little Ponies.
Friendship is magic.

carbon steel frying pans:
anyone used de Buyer mineral b? are they worth the premium over regular blue / black steel?
Hah! I’d lit the chimney starter then been charged with showering the toddler (which involves getting fully immersed oneself). Emerged to find it blaring a stream of sparks 3 ft into the air and alarmingly all over a very dry bush right next to the tent. I panicked and rushed out in just a towel to tip it out and... fucking OUCH
