  • fuck me in this weather Ive gone from full-on salad munching
straight to comfort eating from hell--

thick toast with massive swadges of butter and jam..mmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Repeating the phrase: "Plate of food", ad infinitum in an aussie accent.
    (But not actually eating anything)

  • Just back from a weekend in France... you just can't beat a crusty French baguette.... fresh.... from the women at the bakery in the village... there we go.... yum-fecking-yum .... I'm sitting here looking at one I brought back..... not sure if it can wait till morning..... where's that nice unsalted butter....

  • I ate way too much.
I had an amazing weekend of good wine that was expertly paired with food by my mate (we were at his wine cellar), crusty baked bread, mushrooms and runner beans from the farm I was staying on and lots of lovingly prepared simple dishes with fresh herbs. Nothing I had sounded extraordinary... But it tasted amazing!
Now I'm too full to move. At all. Or sleep.

  • Weirdly, I had the same craving at the same time. I made Bearnaise for the first time. Took me two attempts but turned out pretty well.

I'm all about having a massive steak today, feeling carnivorous.
Mashed potatoes as a side, bit of salad might come handy.

  • I am currently craving fish and chips. It must be a bad craving, I'm about to go out in the rain to get them...

  • Fresh tomatoes from the garden, loads of orgeano, basil and garlic gives me this....

which when added to the chilis and rosemary from the garden, along wiht chicken, chorizo and goat's cheese and my own pizza dough gives me this...

    Not un-delicious.

  • The restaurant cites as its inspiration the indigenous Brazilian Waricaca tribe, which once practised the ritual of "compassionate cannibalism", or eating parts of the corpse of a loved one to emphasise the connection between the living and the dead, which was said to help with mourning

Ever read Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land?

Also - no one said anything about my pizza. Philistines.

  • Not read it, but I love Heinlein.

Starship Troopers was an ace book and a shit film.

(The film is actually a guilty pleasure of mine - giant aliens and machine guns. Mmmm...)

  • Oh, and who put 'sex wee' as a tag?

Amazing book and political social commentary. Would be a very appropriate film in the world today IF it was in the right hands.

  • So this evening roast pousin covered in chilli, pepper and salt for a very crispy skin, and lemon grass basmati rice...... followed by vanilla ice cream and summer fruits cooked in a pan with sugar and brandy.... am feeling so fat I can only play on the internet rather than walk next door to watch tv.......

  • Im in for Georgian. Cute restaurant too.

  • Porcini and lemon Risotto.

  • ^that looks lovely. Jerk chicken + rice and peas + dumping = carnival. Same for dinner methinks.

  • mmm I could really do with some Carribean food right now! owww

  • Made pie (steak and kidney) and chips yesterday, modelled here, pre cooking, by me in my multi-layered anti-hot-spitting-fat-attire.

  • the camera/layers add ten kilos

  • You sure it's not the pie adding 10 kilos?

  • ^Its the chips. Definitely the chips that add the kilos. Pie is point free.
