Get these ones, you can get them in some wholefood shops or order them online, smaller more taco-sized and taste proper. You can get blue corn ones too.

Refried beans:
1 can black beans
2 garlic cloves minced
Chilli flakes to taste
1 teaspoon smoked paprika-Get some oil warm in a saucepan and gently sauté the garlic and chilli flakes but don’t colour it for a minute or so.
-Add the paprika powder and cook out for 30 seconds.
-Pour in the whole can of black beans with all the water.
-Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring every now and then.
-Take off the heat and mash some of the beans up to thicken to your liking, I like to leave some beans whole.
-Heat up at the end just before serving, salt to taste (beans can take quite a lot of salt).
-For bonus points crumble over some cheese like wensleydale or Caerphilly, these are closest to proper Mexican queso fresco. -

I throw in some onion as well, probably not very authentic but very tasty... I cook it right down with the chilli and garlic then add the beans...

I've been perfecting my refried beans for years, they're pretty fucking good now. They freeze and reheat perfectly too so you can make loads.

Sunday is time to relax
Unless you arrive late Saturday to a villa without booze. Found a market eventually, semolina flour, 2kg of pomadoro for €2, 7 bottles of prosecco, the basics. Puglia is lush.

Anyone been to Malaysia? I'm gonna be in KL for 6 nights at the end of the month, wondering what's good to eat.

Whereabouts were/are you? I could have provided some tips

Puglia is awesome, more people should go. Wait no, actually, nobody else go. It's perfect without you all.

Everything, there are a few hawkers markets with loads of food stalls... Roadside stalls all over the place...
The food really is magnificent and super cheap...

We've stayed at the ParkRoyal every time we've been which is pretty central and there are loads of locals spots nearby... We only ate Malay or Chinese food while we were there but there is a very large Indian community as well... Makes my mouth water just thinking about it...

I was in KL last year and I don't think I spent more than about 3 quid on a meal. I didn't bother with the restaurants and instead headed for the Hawker centres and street food places. There are plenty scattered around and it's easy to see which are popular with locals and head there.
There's also Jalan Alor which is a bit more touristy with loads of food stalls which is worth a visit.

If you're like me, you'll eat anywhere but you'd want a targeted list, for stomach space is limited.
My KL experience is limited so a long transit and shuttle to hotel, but I've put a feeler out into my Malaysian friends, to see what they can recommend. -
