Nice. My pissed post-gig midnight snack on Saturday night was a bag of frozen oven cooked scampi served up in a couple of doughy hot-dog buns (the only bread left in Sainsburys) with ready made coleslaw and sriracha. It was freakin' delicious.

In New Orleans that's called a po-boy.

So good... Oyster po-boys are one of my favourite things ever...

Had some aubergine and broccoli knocking about last night, rustled up some bhajis. Would recommend! Annoyingly though, if you're shallow frying then you can only form little balls otherwise they don't cook in the middle.

Went back to my cheffing days and started quenelling the hell out of the mix, only to be toasted by soggy middles.

Sounds good. Love a bhaji. I'm a big fan of the takeaway bhajis from Babur in Brockley. They're massive, crunchy and not at all greasy. Plus one portion will feed two with leftovers for one each the next day.

The worst farts I ever had was after a night on plum vodka followed by a huge onion bhaji. I still cringe when I think about it now.

Bhajis give me death farts, can't handle too much onion in one go.

I put in an order with Mark and though, "yeah lets throw in £20 worth of smoked bacon. I can freeze it and use it later." I've divided it up and nope. It hasn't made it to the freezer yet.

Today - I'll cook some more than I need and I can put it in the fridge for tomorrow. Nope, ate it all.

At this rate I'll finish the giant bag tomorrow.
Good bacon makes my day!

Foxlow, Hix, Bird of Smithfield was pretty good when I went there. I liked Modern Pantry as well.

Most of those will be of a similar price to St John though.

restaurants that seat you RIGHT next to the toilets even tho the place is 80% empty and you booked a week ago. actually - fuck you, i want a better table and i can do without the eye rolling when i tell you as much, functionary.

Not a restaurant, but The Abbeville pub is fucking terrible for that. The whole dining area smells like a urinal cake.

Is the eagle still going? Loved that place.
