  • I'd go with hand-cut Pata Negra, but I would, innit...

  • When are you delivering my rillettes Nuknow?

  • WHOLE FOODS ain't real life son...

'Butter is poison' proper fucking Lolz there.

BUt I want it in my life…..so, so bad. The whole of it.
I could live there. Honestly. Not in Richmond, INSIDE Whole Foods.

    Laugh now, you'll cry laterzzzz.

  • When are you delivering my rillettes Nuknow?

I might. Need to get back in the game tho.

  • You've changed.

    Live well, die fat.

  • Jesus L'Ancienne.

    :)

    Waitrose.

    It's all about the Jesus.

  • You've changed.

    Live well, die fat.

But I smell the same :)

  • I did lose some weight actually.

    6"2' 13 st. now.

  • Streak of piss as opposed to streaky bacon?

  • Congrats! Which bit? From Holland right? Jeebus, talk about a food upgrade.

From Holland indeed. Moved to Madrid and have spotted two Galician restaurants that need proper investigating already. Had breakast this morning with two pieces of warm crusty bread, good olive oil, one with a home made tomato paste and one with jamon ibérico de bellota accompanied by a proper cortado in the sun. The coming 8 months are gonna be so damn good!
Last time I was in Madrid I didnt have much time or money, but now Im gonna try every place where I see at least one local. Last time I asked the Argentinan(?) bouncer of a club for a proper Argetinan parilla restaurant which I also definitely need to try.
This morning I had a stroll through Chamberí, the neighbourhood where Im staying this week. I came across a market with so much good fresh fish, meat and charcuterie. They will see me a lot!
Bought a rat bike today so when I start working next week and at the university in October I can go by bike, Im gonna need the exercise!
Any recommendations in Madrid? (Im not very fond of seafood)

  • You're nuts. Olive Oil won't burn.

While it's obviously true that hippy's nuts, olive oil most certainly will burn. You wouldn't know about that, as you're a very good cook, but I remember when I couldn't cook at all yet and caused olive oil to go up in smoke on at least two separate occasions. :)

Actually, I have no idea if that's technically 'burning' but it certainly smoked and started to stink rather badly.

  • Now I've got a bit of time and space in the kitchen, I'm going to make moqueca, loved it when I was in Brazil, and need to make it before the world cup finishes...

  • I'm making the '40 cloves of garlic' chicken tonight.

  • Well jelly, haven't made that for many years...

  • Leftovers are so good. Squeezing the garlic out onto sourdough......

Very good for the digestion, luckily I'm a single man.

  • Went to bodeans.
    Now dead.

  • I recommend a lie down...

  • Garlic chicken - the deathrow meal? that one? love it.

  • Chicago style pizza, though, isn't really pizza. It's kind of a savory cake with some of the pizza ingredients on top but in reverse order. If you ate one to yourself you would probably die.

There's my next challenge. :) Where do I find one?

  • We discussed this Hippy. Go to Chicago, Gino's East pizzeria. (or I posted the method upthread to make it yourself)

  • ^^ A more fun alternative to a Swiss suicide clinic.

  • Chicken Katsu wrap from Petticoat lane market.. nom nom nom

I don't do Americaland. Anywhere in this country that will do a close approximation?

That, or I also hold the classic deep dish at Little Star in high regard if you ever make it out to sunny San Francisco.
