  • My fave bar in Manhattan is Tom & Jerrys on the LES, on the north corner of E Houghton and Elizabeth... Best NYC neighbourhood bar ever...

  • Henry Public - turkey leg in milk sandwich.

Also check out some of the Munchies series on youtube as there are quite a fee NY based places on there, for instance:

    Munchies: Jeepney - YouTube

  • going to be in new york, midtown manhattan for four days, working mostly, with a bit of time in the evenings to drink and eat.

Any suggestions for food/drinks in that part of town. Will be taking a bike with me, but extended travel times aren't going to be doable during the day. Working 9-8pm.

Looking to probably do williamsburg (love riding over that bridge) on saturday night and brooklyn (carroll st/smith st) on the sunday night. But am open to switching that around...

    Let me know

Was in NYC about a fortnight ago.
Working, little time, on a PD, same criteria as you.

These places are all legit if a little touristy.
    Trust me, I'm fat.

  • I stayed in soho like a hundred years ago. Two places that were good were Salt and Blue Ribbon.

Salt was the better of the two but has since closed after losing their lease. The chef renamed her smaller place http://www.thelmaonclinton.com/

Blue Ribbon still exists and has expanded to a bunch of other places. When I was there Pharrell and Chad Hugo were at the next table (I don't really think this is a positive, but I am also not sure it is still that kind of place.)

I feel a little like I am recommending the salad at the waldorf astoria and amazing combination of melon and prosciutto. I am sure there are more hip cooler spots, but I liked those two. Also melon and prosciutto are good.

  • Oh blue ribbon link. http://www.blueribbonrestaurants.com/rests_brass_man_main.htm

Oh, also while I am recommending the food darlings of yesteryear I should also point you at http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/arturos/

somehow the coal oven makes the pizza good.

Straight Edge and Vegan aren't the same.

Vegans don't eat/use animal products to varying degrees for a multitude of reasons.

People who are Straight Edge don't drink/smoke/take recreational drugs. Again to varying degrees and for different reasons.

    I'm Straight Edge.
I eat meat and wear leather so the vegans won't have me.

    Make sense?

A Jacobs ladder is worse for your body than a PBR. Just sayin

I don't mind ribs but I'd rather just have a plate of burnt ends and some cornbread.

And Pabst Blue Ribbon is the shittest hipster piss lager known to man. When I did drink I wouldn't have put that anywhere near my mouth.

  • pbr isnt that bad and its not drunk only by hipsters. its drunk because its cheap as fuck. everyone drinks it
