for bibimbap, try one of the loads (4) of korean joints round the back of denmark street / across the road from the Faux Fox.

^^ There must be a ton of places you can get it for cheaper...
Try the little sushi place near Rapha on Brewer Street... So cheap, great spot to pick up an ad hoc al fresco lunch in Golden Square...
@greenhell: Yeah, I know... Assa on St Giles High Street is one of my favourite KoreaTown spots, haven't been in ages...

The wife is having dinner with her internship advisor leaving me to my own devices. My own devices were my newly aquired tarako (cod roe) soba noodles, some natto and chopped kimchi over rice (brown rice [all you haters can ...]), and a rare not pils/hefe/dunkle beer. May be a little ugly, but hella good.

Last night's dinner was my first tussle with an Honest burger. Felt like eating a wet fart.

Ha. What was it you weren't as fond of?
I liked it, however I think im a man of simple pleasures when it comes to a good burger, for me the chutneys, aged cheddars etc weren't necessarily to my taste. The burger itself I remember being alright, though.
In other news - that Sous Vide circulator I ordered in fucking July finally arrived today. Except they messed up the order and ended up sending me a whole case (6 of the things!). I wish I could keep them all!

Not even close to advertised medium burger (medium-rare more like, nudging outright rare - too sloppy for my taste) and chips (hours old, dead) both lukewarm. Forgettable barbecue sauce. It might be cheaper, but still not a patch on Byron.

Had much better scran in Switzerland though. This is raclette, both the name of the dish and cheese used. A ruddy great lump of it is grilled until bubbling and molten, then the gooey and crusty parts scraped onto a plate, to be eaten with boiled spuds, pickled onions and gherkins. Four of us just about polished off the whole thing then promptly retired to bed.

Or I'll take one. Possibly, not knowing what it actually is, but having a tea-urn I've been meaning to PID for a while lurking in the workshop...

Yeah man. That's the stuff it is even more expensive than getting it from Japan though. I am just going to figure out how to get a full case here at some point I think. Maybe I'll sell them on the pasta sauce black market.
