Columbian bocadillo is concentrated guava + sugar that might make an awesome alternative to gels.

How about a shooters sandwich?
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2010/apr/07/how-to-make-shooters-sandwich
It looks really good, but after reading that it's just bread with streak and mushrooms and takes about 7 hours to make.. I'm out.
Did someone say shooters sandwich?

Just made another wonderful courgette soup, absolutely delicious...
The light green courgettes have been turning up at my local cash and carry over the last few weeks, sweet and buttery... A totally different kettle of fish to standard dark courgettes...
Sweat some onions off in some olive oil, add garlic and a little chilli, not too much as you don't want to overpower the delicate courgette flavour... Slice the courgette thinly and cook off at a medium heat for a minute or two before turning the heat right down and sweating off with the lid on... Ten minutes later add some chicken stock and simmer til softened then plunge your Bamix in and blend til smooth... Season to trade and add as generous glug of really good olive oil...
Delicious!

Nour Cash & Carry in Market Row, Brixton... They're almost as good as yellow courgettes, which are my absolute faves thinly sliced and sauteed in butter and garlic... Nomzzzz...

To Brixton? You really can't go wrong at Nour, best shop in the area, great stuff at very low prices...

Made gnocchi last night with purple sprouting broccoli, shallots and garlic and parmesan cream (actually stock and creme fraiche with Tesco vegetarian hard cheese, haters gonna hate).
It was delicious, I should have taken a picture but I just ate it all instead. My girlfriend poached plums in sugary red wine with cinnamon for pudding, it tasted like some kind of delicious medicine. Had that with Ben & Jerry's frozen Greek yoghurt with honey.

Giles Coren gave it a perfect score in The Times not long back. I happened to walk on Saturday so spent a few minutes reading their menu - I'd take the full card.

You don't need to, if you get the right courgette they are super creamy already without having to add butter or anything... Incredible vegetable*...
