I recognise that it probably should be, but I love brown rice too hard. I was raised on a hippy commune, the tofu and brown rice lifestyle is a hard one to shake.
White rice for Japanese curry is better to me for some reason though. (I usually end up eating it with brown but).

I like brown rice with piri-piri. It's got a nutty thing happening that I dig.

Nutritional yeast for salads. Brown rice for almost all rice-related duties. Tofu for stir fries. Weird tinctures for medicine.

I tried chicharron with guacamole yesterday, hate to say it but it was actually nice. I'll stay vegetarian for now.
Never knew that Mexicans don't eat guacamole with totopos or tortilla chips.

Chicharron? In London? You holding out on me jaw?

• #16619
It gets better, in teh UAE of all places. I've seen it in London though, lemme rack my brains a bit...
-
• #16620
Ha! Now I am imagining some sort of secret underground restaurant selling pork in the UAE. Like a porcine speak easy hoping not to get raided by the cops.

Chris, you can get chicharrón at a little south American café/butchers in Brixton called Las Américas... It's on Popes Road, only spitting distance from the HipsterFoodCourt™...

Cool. I will have to get the grand tour of the market with you on some upcoming Saturday.

This is the kind of chicharrón you get at Las Américas...
The Galician stuff looks like this, one of my fave things ever, effectively it's pulled pork...
