I'm off the booze until 1st april, and though I'm not a fundamentalist on not having any alcohol pass my lips before then, I feel to be true to the spirit of non drinking, I shouldn't add it into any recipes I'm making..
will remake this cheesecake if its any good in april with added calvados. Though I do have some poire william, so I could just substitute the apples for pears..

I have a craving for both prawns and samphire. Anyone know a delicious recipe which involves both?

Can you get proper quality this time of year? Samphire that is.

Cinnamon and/or ginger then.

Although I'm not sure where it originates from, the samphire from the Picadilly Whole Foods is great- no signs of wilting, nice and crunchy etc.

Greengrocer in Herne Hill has samphire when it is in season at a mega cheap price. I always buy a load and freeze what I don't need.

Fishmonger on Lordship Lane always had loads of samphire when it was on my daily route. Haven't been by in a few months though.
...last time I checked, Waitrose were doing it on their fish couter too.

Curry question.
Last night I ate a prawn phal (hotter than vindaloo). It made me high.
Is eating this dangerous? -

High how?

About 1" off the chair. No seriously it felt like smoking a cigarette for the first time kind of high. probably blood pressure doubling.
maybe you could set it on fire at the table...
