  • Indo-Chinese is pretty tasty, I love Chilli paneer since I had it in Goa a few years ago, I never knew you could get it in London. Awesome, definitely going there asap!

  • ^ so wrong yet so right

  • By far the best niharis I've ever eaten are at Mirch Massala in Tooting. I suspect you get better in Pakistan though. It's a breakfast dish so definitely not meant to be over-chillied.

Pft, Nihari without a shit ton of ghee, chilli and ginger isn't a Nihari.

Its meant to be a proper bum tingler to wake you up after early morning prayers I heard from my grandpa who was a bit of a nehari geek and wheeled me around the best nihari's and biriyanis in Sindh Province

Needoo grill on New Road is even better than Tayaabs.

  • sindh india or sindh pakistan?

    #trickquestion

  • Best place to sit down and eat ribs? Ideally East of central london

  • Surely Bodeans... Tower Hill.

  • I really like Red Dog but I was wondering if there was an alternative I was missing. Going to try and get some heartwarming hangover meat this weekend.

  • ^^ I organised my work xmas party to be there, tomorrow night! boom

  • Don't get Bodeans at all, been once and could scarcely have been less whelmed. Average meat, crappy sides, nothing special at all. Dukes Brew and Cue, and Pitt Cue Co, both blow it out of the water... imo...

  • agreed, but for what I needed, fits the bill. all 14 of my tightarse colleagues aren't going to schlepp it down to east east or central lon for proper good food and there's no way I could get a table for 15.

For sure, many restaurants have their uses, was more in response to the request for recommendations for best ribs....

  • Ah yeah, def not the best. However I'll give a comprehensive review of Bodeans Tower Hill on Thurs for y'all.

In other news, I haven't tried but have walked past and ripped the take away menu off their wall. It's fucking expensive for take away let me tells ya.

Actually looking at this online menu - it's wrong, almost everything is 50p more.
i.e. Hamburger is £9 on the menu I have in hand.

  • does anyone have a recipe for salt beef? I want to make my own. I vaguely remember seeing a link about it here

  • Fresh turmeric.

    So good.

    Such stains.

  • A perfect lunch in Portugal. TheoryGirl and I shared a few starters - tender as you like baby squid in garlic oil, grease-free calamari, plump mussels in white wine and rich, intense fish soup. All fresh as a daisy having been brought in daily to a harbour not half a mile away. Another lunch at the same place a day earlier of again fish soup, my favourite dish of all time, lobster bisque and seafood cataplana to share was equally faultless. On both occasions we were the only guests too. Spoilt bloody rotten.

  • I went to Sodo in Clapton tonight.

It's not Franco Manca, but it's good. Reading the last few posts has made me crave paneer even more though.

  • Love cataplana. Enjoy Mr. Swine. Enjoy.

  • Supposed to be in new york visiting the old neighbourhood ect over easter , anyone got anywhere worth a visit ? baohaus is a certain visit but has been a while since I was over there

  • Ginger Pig ultimate pork pie - combo of pork meat, black pudding and caramelised onions.

    Much expectation, so dissapoint

claggy, soggy pastry, very dry filling, no jelly

  • Why would you mess with a pork pie?

  • Maybe the pork pie started kicking off first.

  • Anyone been to Saltyard? Going this evening, quite excited.

  • where the fuck can i buy a whole turkey in south london? three tescos and two waitroses later and still nothing. need one for belated thanksgiving dinnerz innit.

if theres christams ads on telly, there should be turkeys in the shops.
