That is some lunch. I've had to stop eating loads of carbs in the day or I have to have a nap.

So we were in Vietnam at the same time? For about the same amount of time. Food was amazing. Everything was incredibly fresh.
Highlights were steamed buns with pork and quail egg, all the baguettes with pate, bbq pork, ham, salad, and chili. Those were amazing...!
All the seafood was so good too. There was one dish I really liked, minced shrimp cooked on sugar cane. The shrimp is then cut off the sugar cane and you wrap it up in rice paper with salad to make summer rolls. They just call them fresh spring rolls there.
Sounds great man! Pretty much every picture I took for three weeks was of food of some sort. will do an update when i get time. Were you there for Typhoon Nari?

Just caught the end of Paul Hollywood's Bread. He did a great beef stew using savoury scones* on the top - as you would dumplings. Looked great, definitely going to try and work out a vegetarian version.

OK, I need somewhere in Bloomsbury/ Fitzrovia for our Office Christmas meal. Italian preferred, there's 18 of us, I'm vegetarian and don't want to get the shit option. Go!

I've only been there once but had a great vegan dish. Lots of veggie options. Not sure if cheap enough for a Christmas meal, but it's good.

Spag House across from Boomsbury Square? Not exciting but reliably good and can cater for larger numbers than most.

I went to Gokyuzu on Green Lanes on Friday, after reading months ago that it had been really highly rated on Tripadvisor.
It was awesome. Free bread, cacik and salad is always a good start, especially when the salad alone tastes that good.
For the main I had roasted vegetables and cheese wrapped up in flatbread, then cut into slices and served with a tomato sauce and bulgur wheat. She had chicken shish with rice. Mine was so much better than it sounds, hers was apparently really good as well, and it came to just over a tenner each including drinks. I'll definitely be going back there.
