    Was in Thailand last week and in one of the night markets at Trang there was an old fella selling what can only be described as humongous pork scratchings! Not quite roasted and crunchy though so still a bit chewy, cooked in a kind of sweet, honeyish 5 spice

    Slabs of belly/side pork literally 2ft x 2ft but the underneath(meatside) had been scored into 1inch sq chunks so when cooked the corners went all crispy. He cut off an 8/10" sq slab for me then chopped that up into bitesize pieces - LUST!
    I was walking round eating them out of the paper wrapping like fish & chips and all the Thai's were laughing and pointing at me. I later found out that you're not suppose to eat them like sweets but to be put into a pan with all the trimmings and served with rice

    I ate the whole lot and needless to say I had the top 10 hits the next day

  • Yep. Used to be good years ago when it first opened but they have a 'quick, hurry up and eat your food and fuck off out within an hour' policy now and it's over run with Essex geezers, twats in suits and Sharons with LV bags

    True, I've been there twice and they were like different restaurants each time. The best time to go is a weekday lunch - early or late. The staff were lovely and the food was great.

    Other time was a Saturday night and they were like fucking dragons! (No Chinese pun intended)

    They are often actually left by/in latrines to eat human waste!

    When they are not doing that, they are eating mostly rubbish.

    Following awesome advice above on Pork Chops... I now have two lamb steaks winking at me from the corner of the fridge... I have no allergies, eat everything what should I do with them?

  • Personally I like to smother my lamb in olive oil, salt, pepper, lime, and garlic, then BBQ it. Alternatively grill it. Serving options include 'Greek' salad - toms, cucumber, feta, olives, and red onion - and pitta, or boiled rice and lashings of yoghurt.

    Oops just noticed that was 21 hours ago. I imagine they got eaten many hours ago.

  • I've never been a fan of guacamole, always thought it tasted a bit too much of nothing and looks like sludge. Well I made some last night and it was pretty damn good. Much better than the stuff you get on wetherspoons nachos (the last place I've had any. I know... food fail.) and so easy to make.
