Not if you've got enough beer it isn't ;)

I'll try the foil method of stall avoidance next time I think

I'd love to be in the LFGSS chilli team... bit far away mind...
I also have been drooling over pork shoulder and the above burgers. I'll post up kleftico photos when i get home. Still not managed to taste it.

Patty & Bun ARI GOLD = very good, very good indeed. Still, £8 for a hamburger is a bit rich, shouldn't be more than a fiver IMO

^ one of the best, so so much juicy, meaty goodness :D
Gonna have to go this week now...

Went to Shake Shack last night, £9 a double burger, nowhere near as good as MeatMarket just round the corner. Chips also disappoint. Don't get me wrong, burger was good, like a pimped-out burger king, but nowhere near some of the proper 'gourmet' offerings kicking about at the moment....

I really liked SS but I 'd agree that it was a lot of money for basically good quality fast food (where I wouldn't consider Meatmission, P&B etc fast food)

Yeah - I mean, its one branch at the moment, but it will probably expand - i think having a burger that consistently good in multiple locations is no mean feat. I am a massive fan of Shack Burger. To me it's what a hamburger should be - salty, lots of contrasting textures - soft bun, great flavour. Each to their own though!
In other news i made Beetroot Gnocchi with Goats cheese, Pancetta and Rocket last night and it was straight delicious.

Absolutely obsessed with the cheesy chips.

• #14836
I'd have them for every meal if I could but.... I'D BE DEAD

I'd second cheesy chips, do you have a cheese preference? Or is the orange cheese standard?
-
• #14838
No choice, it's the US style plastic cheese sauce

I used to have cheesy chips 4-5 times a week when I was a stoner. I didn't put on weight but I noticed my general fitness levels plummeted to depths unknown to fish without luminescent limbs to attract prey.

Damn it!
Made a slow cooker gammon joint. Tastes like the biz but can't eat it all before I go t'north on Saturday...
Cock!

Not a particularly bad predicament to find yourself in. Just increase gammon intake.

True.
Mixing it with roast chicken for the work sarnies seems to work well.

Several of my colleagues are currently in uproar having spotted me wolfing my second breakfast of peanut butter and banana on toast (I've been to the gym then ridden to work this morning so need it!).
Have just had to listen to about 10 minutes of berations about how disgusting it sounds and how sweet and gross it must be. Have they ever tried it? NO. Well shut TFU and let me revel in the joys of this wondrous snack (especially when accompanied by black coffee) whilst I procrastinate before pretending to do work for 9 hours!

Been experimenting with vegetarianism lately, and can report that the falafel wrap from Best Kebab with all the salad is one of the great cheap eats at £3.50

honey too!? must be quite brutally sweet.
am trying to avoid buying cheaper PB (sunpat etc) coz it's full of oil. The more expensive stuff is quite a lot less sweet, but way more nutty tasting. Is odd at first but great when you get used to it
I found this graph of what happens to a brisket being smoked and mine was stuck right there at 150 f for hours and hours too before getting up to 170f after 10 hours.
13 hours is alot of time to be watching a BBQ man.
