  • It's a beautiful day, you'll get there walking in 20min.
Just cross London Fields, and get some bread off E5 bakehouse too.
    Winning all around.

  • Head up to Dukes in Dalston.
    That will satisfy your desire.
    And it will taste better.

  • Got this from the Regent on LIverpool Road. Top Sunday evening grub.

  • Have come to the red dog saloon with the express intention of trying the devastator but didn't think to book. Balls. Any suggestions for an alternative near hoxton square?

I've tried 3 times in the last 2 weeks, always packed and not got in either

    Full of City Boys! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

5mins from my gaff, never been in.....defo pop in after looking at that

  • keema + rye bread for dinner

  • Got in when my mates turned up, had to eat at the bar but that was fine, meant we got beers as soon as our glasses were empty. Still a bit annoyed that a) I didn't think of that first time and B) it wasn't offered. 3 of us had the devastator but not as the challenge so no fries. I have to say, it was nice but no way near the behemoth I had imagined. I was quite merrily chatting away and polished it off in 12 min, my mate was doing a dry run for the challenge and finished in 8 after admitting he wasn't that hungry anyway. I even finished off the top half of my other mate's bun (which had a cheeky piece of bacon stuck to it) with no real effort. Will have to go back and humiliate it at some point. There was a guy next to us who tried and failed at the hot wings challenge. Photos to follow.

  • Is there anywhere open I can get nice bread right now? I have a hankering for a thick cut pork sandwich using the last three strips of the belly from yesterday. I've got three hours to kill while I wait for some kit to be dropped off. I figure a night-ride to a 24 hour bakery somewhere? Except I can only think of plasticky supermarket bread at this hour.

  • the white shop fronted bagel bakery in brick lane is 24h if you live close

  • Not that far - E5. I think I may pootle down. Ta

  • Still there Ed?... Try Stoke Newington High St. the Bakery there on the main road.
I'd honestly have a go at E5, you might be lucky. They're always there, its a fucken bakery!!!..
    (Bakers work at night :)

  • : ) Might try E5 enroute. STILL never been!

  • Starters.

    Beginners

  • Juat back from Mangal on Arcola street in Dalston. About the tenth time I've been and it never dissapoints.

Massive basket of fresh, warm, crusty yet soft pide bread with mixed mezze (humous, baba ganoush, a yoghurty / mint thing and a salsa type thing), followed by a minced chicken and parsley kebab and a lamb chunks kebab, all with oodles of amazingly simple yet awesome salad. £26 for two. The chicken thing brings a smile to my face every time.

I love that place so much.

  • In southall right now waiting to work

So popped in for a light snack, samosas, kulfi faluda and then the waitress looked shocked when I asked for rasmalai too.

    I love Indian sweet foods.

Trying to resist the urge to buy burfi too.

  • You like sweet milky things then :)

  • Ok, what cut of pork for pulled pork, was tempted by belly pork as its a mixture of fatty and meat for the perfect slow cooked pulled pork. Or tempting by shoulder what would you recommend.

    Thank you
