You live with another bloke.. you can fucking talk!

  • Yep. That Jade Johnson is fit. So tall and slender. Some of them look a bit anorexic though.
The heptathletes seem to be the fittest generally

athletics girls are so much hotter than swimmers (or cyclists).

  • i have a thing for pole vaulters (have dated a couple of them). but not every bloke is comfortable having a girlfriend who can bench-press more than his mates.
one of my pole-vaulting ex's weighed about 60kg, could bench about 70-75kg and was very fiery. once we were in a club and some dude made a comment that upset her, so she gave him a shove and sent him flying into a table. good times.

  • Yana Maksimava?

Oh yeah, baby! She totally rings my bell... Cheers hippy... I owe you some rep...

  • I'm talking about sailing, not rowing, in Yngling, Lazer etc you're constantly moving around the craft.

reaching right for a Thai Prawn snack. back over to the left for a glass of bubbly, again to the front for a hot canape, back to the left for bubbly top up...

damn rich mans sport. still, glad we won

  • I see 2012 track racing playing out like Rocky IV with Chris Hoy as Ivan Drago and a plucky Orstrayan training out on Dartmoor for the final showdown. And there will be a montage.

  • Any body watching sky sports news?

They just showed a brilliant clip from Aussie sky sports news with them all whinging about how they cant believe the poms are going to beat them in the medal table.

  • Ohuruogu has won every final she's ever contested at a major championship. She might be a drugs cheat, erm forgetful, but she performs when it matters.

Not really fair. She missed three tests, she has never failed a drugs test.

Maybe "so far", but still hasn't.

i can see the opening scene: a tight crop of the union jack fluttering in the breeze, the whirring sound of cogs and chains camera pans left/zooms out to show australian flag,in the background small tanned blonde haired kid is being shouted at by merv hughes type coach as he peddles furiously round an open air velodrome in the sunshine.
dunno who would do the theme tune though?

  • Rolf?

  • definitely not midnight oil

  • Treads Are Burning?

Take it with a grain of salt, it's hardly whinging.
It's called rivalry, which has finally become healthy.
    :)

  • Big piece on track cycling just been on C4 news... Herne Hill piece coming up shortly...

  • has it gone?

    I missed it?

  • has it gone?

    I missed it?

My tricky gf just switched over for 5 mins, don't think it's been on yet tho', sounds like it'll be a light-hearted 'And finally' piece...

  • Coming up!

  • hmmm. what a load of rubbish

  • heh! it even had Peter on there (he didn't say anything about parcel delivery for a change)

  • but where were you? you claim to be down there all the time, and yet no sight of you.

  • it was filmed today, not saturday, and until I get paid to ride my bike at the velodrome (I'm guessing never) I still have to work like most other people during the week

  • C4 viddy

  • cool, ta for sharing.

  • Gonna start going to HH regularly on Saturday mornings now the Wednesday evening sessions are over. Is there a number there I can ring to see if the track is dry before cycling 12 miles to get there. Could not find a number on their website!

  • Not really fair. She missed three tests, she has never failed a drugs test.

Technically missing three drugs tests is treated as the equivalent to failing one.

Anyway, it was a (poor) joke.

I'm genuinely pleased for her as she got absolutely crucified by the British press last year who are a bunch of hypocritical, hypercritical chauvinists (look at how she was treated in comparison to Rio Ferdinand). For her to stick it right up them at the biggest event of them all had me cheering at my desk.
